How’s the new year treating you? I’m excited about a new leaf, but I’d be lying if I said I was ready for it. I knew December would be over in the blink of an eye, but I still haven’t had a chance to really sit down and think about goals and what I want for the upcoming year. So until then, here’s a look back at this past year! As much as some are saying 2016 was a terrible year, I don’t think it was so bad and we had a great time.
We started the year being sick, which seems to be the way we’re starting this year. I was chosen to be one of the marathon bloggers for the Pittsburgh Marathon, too. I shared how to train for a race, our first snow storm of 2016, and shared thoughts on gaining weight while being pregnant.
I reminded myself, mostly, of the benefits of a walk, which can be easy to pass up. I did the 21 Day Fix Diet with Aaron and we saw great results. I volunteered at a Special Needs prom which was so fun. I also shared how hard it was when I didn’t know Annabelle had reflux, but thankfully we got that fixed. Since I lost the rest of the baby weight, I also went on a limb with some fashion posts and shared some of the outfits I was able to put together with my regular clothes. I reminded myself (and others!) how to stay hydrated in the winter too, which seems appropriate to share again. Oh, Aaron and I also went on a date!
I had a girl’s night and we celebrated my BIL’s 30th birthday. I shared my appreciation for single moms after Aaron was gone for 2+ weeks in February. I talked about how to get ready for the week ahead which I should frequent more often. We celebrated Easter, too! I started sharing goals and my check in on those goals. Oh, and I bruised my ribs and couldn’t workout for a few weeks.
I ran a great PR in the Pittsburgh 5K race, celebrated Aaron’s and my birthday, plus Mother’s Day. We visited friends who live in the middle of the state, and my friend Bri has a daughter about 3 months younger than A. And I shared how hard it is fitting in workouts as a mom, but how to get the most out of your workouts when you do them. We ended the month with a trip to Conneaut for Memorial Day.
I had Melissa redesign my blog and changed the name! There were park trips, boat trips, and trips Downtown when the Pens won the Stanley Cup. I shared gifts for Father’s and how we celebrated Father’s Day.
First trip to Deep Creek for Annabelle! I went to Club Cycle for the first time, ran in the heat a whole bunch of times, and shared tips for running with a baby. We also had a wedding for our good friends. I also contemplated not sharing but eventually did on my season of running. Aaron and I finished the month celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. Annabelle was also dedicated at church, and we had family pictures taken (oh man was A chubby!)
On the fitness front, I shared about switching up my fitness routine, and also about the Olympics because they were so good. I also got back into teaching at the gym! We went to another wedding and I finished off the month writing a letter to pregnant moms.
We got rid of our office, went to a Fall fest, and shared how I got my body back. I went to a baby shower, our kitchen remodel continued with a big demo, took A to the circus (so fun!) and we celebrated Thanksgiving!
We decorated for Christmas, picked out a tree and put it up, and I shared our good news! Annabelle met (and hated) Santa, and we got our first big snow storm of the season. We also had the best time celebrating Christmas.
There’s a look into the last year and all the posts that went with it!
