HERE’S WHAT ELSE BABY BROWN HAS BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK:
- She’s the size of a head of lettuce
- She weighs about 3.75 lbs and is about 19 inches long, give or take where you find information, haha
- She’s honing the skills she needs to thrive outside the womb, from swollowing and breathing to kicking and sucking.
- She has been sucking her thumb for a while now.
- She’s becoming more opaque and less transparent as she’s gained more fat.
AND HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME THIS PAST WEEK:
Weight Gain: At my last appointment, I had lost a pound, so I’ve been trying to gain some weight. I honestly have no idea if I have, or if I’ve gained too many. If the doctor says anything on Monday, then I’ll worry about it! I was up 21 pounds, and I’m sure I’ve gained at least 2 more so I should end right around 30 or so.
Workouts: Slowing down but still happening! Got in a 21 day fix workout, some walks, some elliptical and some strength. Honestly, it’s working for me. I actually have been starting to feel more achy with longer periods of workouts, like after I’m done teaching. I’m thinking about what to do about teaching. The plan was to continue until 38 weeks but I’m not so sure anymore. It just takes everything out of me these days.
Symptoms: Swelling hands and feet. One night was so bad. My feet not only looked like balloons but they felt it, and I just laughed, haha. Thankfully they haven’t been swollen all the time. I’ve had low back aches, which are a normal occurrence at this point by the end of the night. Lots more pelvic pressure this week. It hasn’t been so fun. It hurts to take long walks at times. I’ve dealt with achiness/lethargy too. It seems gatorade will help or SMARTwater, but still not to the point of me feeling normal. Umm, I’ve been out of breath easier, bending over is hard, crossing legs is getting more difficult, still have heartburn. My newest thing is nausea. I have had random bouts of it a lot when I am full or she is really moving around after I eat. I’m so thankful I didn’t deal with morning sickness during my first trimester. I’m not sure I could do it! Honestly, they are nothing too bad, and I’d take them every day to have a precious baby!
Movement: So much rolling and rocking around. Large kicks are the normal. It feels crazy at times!
Food Aversions: Veggies haven’t been sounding so great.
Food Cravings: Cool foods. Watermelon. Popsicles. Flavored drinks.
Sleep: Honestly it hasn’t been that bad! Of course, I can’t wait to sleep on my back or stomach, but I’ve been able to sleep and go back to sleep relatively fast once I wake up to go to the bathroom.
Maternity clothes?: Oh yes. The workout attire is getting slimmer and slimmer, lol. PJs aren’t maternity either.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Miss Anything? Being able to eat normal amounts, not becoming starving all of a sudden, walking without pressure, my usual intensity of workouts, my old wardrobe.
Fun & Weird Stuff From the Week: My baby shower!
Belly Button in or out? Out/in/overlapping? It’s so weird!
Wedding rings on/off? Still on! I’m hoping they stay on the whole time. I was worried last week I’d have to take them off but they survived my swelling.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! I can’t wait to hold my little girl in my arms.
Baby Items Purchased: Some sleepers from Kohl’s because we had a coupon and 30% off so it was a good deal. But, we got so many things from our shower! I also have the coupons to finish off the registry items we need.
Looking Forward To: Our maternity photos in a couple weeks. We were supposed to get them on Monday, but Aaron ended up getting sick with a fever and such, so we had to scrap them.
