On Friday night, my aunt threw a party in my name for getting married. My aunt LOVES to throw parties, and always goes all out for them. She used to own a Bed & Breakfast, so she just loves cooking and preparing things.
I arrived at my aunts at 7:02 (I wasn’t allowed there until 7:00) and was promptly greeted with pink and green balloons all over! It was a beautiful night, so we took full advantage of the large deck she has. I was immediately in love with how she set up. I didn’t have my camera too often, so I didn’t get a chance to take too many pictures, but it was just beautiful. There were Tiki Torches set up, Lanterns hanging on the table and from the trees, and more balloons. I referred to this day as “Heather’s Day” and there was a balloon that said “It’s all about me!” How perfect was that?!
I was given a Tiara to wear, a Princess ribbon, and a big (fake) diamond ring! Each person also received a smaller tiara and a ring to wear!
I made my way inside and saw the amount of food she made! Oh my word. She was amazing. We had chicken and steak kabobs, shrimp cooked in garlic and pesto sauce, jalapeno popper dip, cheese and crackers, queso dip, beer bread, meatballs, zucchini boats, and more! We also had cream puffs, chocolate covered walnuts, and huge cupcakes (which weren’t out when I snapped these pictures )
After filling up on delicious food, we played a few games. One was a purse raid. It was hysterical to see what people kept in their purses! We were given a list and each item had a different value attached to it and you had 5 minutes to search your purse to see what all you had! Oddly enough, the ones with huge purses didn’t come close to the ones with small purses! How is that possible!
We spent a lot of time just catching up and telling stories of Aaron and I! It was just the best night I could’ve asked for. I loved having my family and friends there that support us more than I could ask for!
Before you left, you were presented with a favor of sorts. It was more of a gift basket. Holy cow did my aunt go all out! The baskets all had a baking theme to them because I love to bake. Each person has a mixing bowl, spatulas, icing, cake mix, brownie mix, dish towels, and measuring cups! I couldn’t get over them; seriously, loved it all!
I can’t believe how fast our wedding is approaching, and just how wonderful my family has been through the entire planning phase. We wouldn’t be where we are today if we didn’t have all the love and encouragement from them! I have a lot of special people in my life.
Brownies or cookies? I would totally pick cookies.
Would you choose appetizers or desserts? I am a huge appetizer lover, so I choose that!
