Hi guys! If you follow me on Instagram, you should know this already…
I PR’ed! Woo! I’ll be sharing more in the race recap this week, but I ran a 1:21:11 and Aaron had an automatic PR of 1:35:19!
Obviously that was the major highlight of the weekend, but in true fashion, here are some of the other fun things.
We went with these bins, but not the shelf.
Saturday morning began with a quick jog around the block to test out my outfit for race day (warmth wise) and then went to a few stores with my mom.
Isn’t this wax warmer adorable?! I definitely want it!
After a quick dash to Target later on, we enjoyed some pasta, meatballs, and garlic bread for dinner. Carbo load, right?! We finished the night watching Drive, save your time and don’t watch it, and then went to bed early.
Sunday was the race and then a day of rest. We both took some snoozes, Benson cuddled up on me, and I iced my knee. I somehow landed wrong on uneven pavement, putting pressure on my ankle and hurting my knee (around mile 5). Though I could feel it through the race at certain points, it wasn’t too bad until I stopped running and tried to walk back to the car (a mile walk mind you). It wasn’t really feeling better by last night, but hoping sleep works some wonders.
Unfortunately, Benson woke up sick on Saturday. Watery eyes and sneezes showed up all day Saturday, and then we were awoken at 3 am Sunday morning to coughing and sneezing for over an hour straight. What a great night of sleep before a race! haha I’m hoping he’s better today but with a runny nose, too. Knowing he had two upper respiratory infections before we got him last year, I think I might call the dr. anyway. He was definitely loving the attention and extra snuggles, though.
Whew, we finished the weekend off with some dinner that I did not cook. Honestly, that just wasn’t happening, so we headed out! Red Robin was right up the road, and a burger sounded delicious. I decided to look a bit more presentable than yoga pants, sports bra, and t-shirt
I chose the bacon cheeseburger with provolone and a side of fries. I was a bit sick in the afternoon before dinner because I honestly just didn’t have much to eat after the race. I made some breakfast/lunch at 11 and meant to eat more but a nap took over, haha. This meal definitely hit the spot! I finished off the night with a celebratory glass of wine. Mmm.
