This past half a week was everything we needed. It was time spent with a lot of family members, lots of memories made, and even some progress on our kitchen! I loved having Aaron off for some extra days, shopping with my mom, and even all the cooking/baking I did to add some things to the holidays. Before I get ahead of myself, let’s back up for this Thanksgiving Recap!
Thursday morning started off in the best way- a 5 mile run, homemade Cinnamon Rolls, Hash Brown Casserole (this one which I’ve made numerous times; so easy and good!), some eggs, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and two teeth for the little one! I was looking forward to the parade knowing Annabelle would love it and that she did! Oh my goodness she danced her way through the parade until it was time for a nap. My parents also came over for breakfast because my Grampa’s cinnamon rolls are her favorite thing. Sadly with teeth hurting, the nap wasn’t so great, and she had a 101.3 fever plus a rash all over! I guess it’s all from teething?
Anyway, after the nap, we went to Thanksgiving part 1 at my in laws! I brought a cheese platter and buffalo chicken dip for some appetizers. We ate dinner around 2:30 and had a fun time before heading out to my aunt’s!
A slept for a short 15 min nap before we made it over to my aunt’s around 4 in time for Thanksgiving dinner with them! I did have some broccoli casserole there, plus a small piece of turkey. Sadly A didn’t eat anything! Not even dessert! Seriously those teeth must have been bothering her because she never turns down food We stayed until way after dessert (this Oreo creme pie I made was a huge hit!) before coming home and A crashing. I actually bought a kitchen table/cart last week on sale and we built that while watching the Steelers play. Aaron planned to make one but I’m selfish and miss time with him after A goes to bed and he has worked his butt off on this kitchen remodel anyway.
Friday morning I headed out to some stores for Black Friday shopping with my mom, and my little fam headed to the mall after lunch. Ohhh my goodness it was crazy busy! I only ended up with butter, eggs, and a sweater from Target. Go big or go home, right?
We rounded out the night at my parent’s house where some of my dad’s family came over. My mom had a taco bar and it was every bit as good as you can imagine. Seriously, I’ll take that for Thanksgiving any day, ha! We had so much fun watching Annabelle be a goof and catching up. Before we knew it, it was way past A’s bedtime and we hadn’t even left! A didn’t get to bed til 9ish but she was as happy as could be!
After a workout, A and I hit up some stores for grocery shopping, before Cait and Noah came over to hang out while Andrew helped Aaron put up cabinets! The top ones are officially done and I’m stoked for the bottom to finish up and be painted. Here’s hoping it’s not too much longer! Of course they took longer than planned so we visited my parents in the afternoon giving the men room to work. We finished the day with a 2+ hour nap (not me, sadly…), Chinese for dinner, a stop by Uncle Alex, and an early bedtime.
Did the whole church, nap, Walmart run in the morning, followed by some more work on the kitchen and organizing everything! I am ridiculously excited to have a microwave above the stove, extra cabinet space, a kitchen peninsula/cart type thing for extra counter space, and have pieces back together. Hoping the bottom half goes smoothly and quickly! Aaron has been working really hard and I know he wants it all to be done just so he can have time back. We took our Christmas card photos and made it to Aaron’s hockey game to watch him play!
