I love making a big deal out of birthdays. There’s just something about having an entire day for people to celebrate you. But, birthdays on weekdays are hard! It’s hard to get super excited when you go to work all day and just have a few hours at night. Add in very busy weekends for the entire month and sadly, celebrations aren’t as huge as I wish they could be.
That doesn’t mean I just let it go. In fact, I still try to go big. Yesterday was Aaron’s birthday, so in true fashion, I put up decorations.
I had a banner on the mantle, as well as posters throughout the house saying Happy Birthday. There were even balloons when he got home! Add in some homemade White cupcakes with Vanilla icing and he loved it.
Annabelle and I showered him with love, and some gifts, too, all evening. Annabelle even helped open the gifts with him (he got a watch, quesadilla baskets for the grill, a grill press, and a mug that says “World’s Best Daddy.” I thought that was appropriate
We headed out and even got dinner! We went to Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza as Aaron wanted a White Pizza. We weren’t very impressed with the menu, though, so Aaron got a beer and we headed down the road to Max and Erma’s.
We started with pretzels and cheese and then both got the Soup, burger, and cookie special.
We rounded out the night playing with Miss A and relaxing on the couch. Hope he enjoyed his day!
We love you, Aaron!
