A light and fluffy dessert; perfect way to end your evening.
With Easter just around the bend, I have started to think about what I should bring to our family get together. Appetizers and desserts are everyone’s favorites, and I can’t argue with that. I would eat appetizers and desserts instead of real meals if that was possible. After just a little bit of thought, I realized we are always lacking on the desserts, so this is prime time to bring something delicious, but light enough to enjoy after a larger meal.
Angel food cake is usually tossed aside to me. I’m not a huge fan, and would rather have a regular cake to eat instead. However, I know many people enjoy it, and it goes well with fruit, specifically, strawberries. I browsed Pinterest for a few recipes, but didn’t see anything exactly what I wanted. I remembered my friend telling me how she made a dessert with angel food cake and mentioned something about white chocolate pudding, and everyone liked it, so I went that direction and hoped for the best (I didn’t know specifics to begin with).
This recipe requires few ingredients, but I would use a pre-made angel food cake, or angel food cake mix (what I did). This was a huge hit! The white chocolate pudding really mellows out the Cool whip, but the cake provides a sweet fluffy bite. The strawberries are just the icing on the cake, let’s be honest! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and think about taking it to your next party!
Angel Food Cake Parfait
|Prep time||20 minutes|
- 1 tub Cool Whip (fat free, light, regular- doesn't matter)
- 1- 3.9 oz White Chocolate Pudding Mix, plus ingredients for that
- 1 lb Strawberries
- 1 Angel Food Cake
|Make the pudding ahead of time. Once that has set, combine with the cool whip in a container.|
|Cut up the Angel Food Cake into bite size pieces, adding about 3/4 into the container of cool whip and pudding mixture. Cut up all the strawberries, and add about 3/4 to the bowl with the cake, cool whip, and pudding.|
|To finish, either divide the mixture into bowls and top with strawberries and some extra angel food cake. If you are not individually serve, top the bowl with remaining cake and strawberry pieces!|
