This weekend was full of celebrations. We had my BIL’s birthday Friday and a party Sunday for him, as well as my three nephews being dedicated at church yesterday morning. But my favorite celebration was for my now 2 year old big girl! Annabelle turned 2 on Saturday and we made sure she has the best time.
The morning started with balloons in her crib. Nolan woke up from the excitement and even got in on the action. We went to Eat n Park for birthday breakfast buffet. Sadly, Annabelle actually woke up sick with a cold and had a temperature all day! She made the most of it but her appetite wasn’t there for the first part of the day so breakfast was just eh. We came home for some presents after breakfast.
Since she did have a temp, we chose not to send her to her final soccer practice so she didn’t wear herself out before her party! Instead, she helped decorate, picked up her birthday cake, and we played whatever she wanted!
After a long nap, it was party time! She has been obsessed with Moana for months now, so we knew we had to have a Moana theme. I found an invitation package on Etsy that came with so many fun decorations. I also sought out Pinterest and came up with our menu. After last years party, I told myself it wasn’t going to be much, but I couldn’t help myself! I love party planning.
Our main entree was pizza, Caeser salad, veggies, and a fruit tray- all Annabelle’s favorites. But I had quite a few snacks before hand. Everything was Hawaiian/beach themed! I’m going to share more about the food in a separate post because there’s a lot.
Annabelle opened presents after dinner and then we had cake. We also had a fire after where Annabelle ate far too much chocolate, ran around with marshmallows in her mouth, and didn’t end up crashing until almost 10 that night! She really did have such a blast (even with a temp!) and I loved celebrating her!
We’re still catching up and need some extra sleep sent our way, but I had such a fun weekend with my 2 year old! I’ll be back with her 2 year update this week, along with Moana food ideas!
