Baby Tooth is just over 16 weeks today and is about the size of an avocado, and can hear. My belly has been making more of an appearance and more people are realizing I am pregnant. That’s always fun to hear!
HERE’S WHAT ELSE BABY BROWN HAS BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK:
- He/she 4-1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3-1/2 ounces.
- His/her legs are much more developed.
- His/her ears are close to their final position, and tiny bones forming in baby’s ears (meaning he/she can now pick up voices).
- The patterning of the scalp has begun, though hair isn’t recognizable yet.
- Baby Brown has started growing toenails.
- His/her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day(!).
- In the next few weeks, Baby Brown will double in weight and add inches to his/her length.
AND HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME THIS PAST WEEK:
Weight gained: My next appointment isn’t for 2 more weeks so I don’t know.
Workouts: Still going strong. The half is this weekend and then I’ll be scaling back the intensity. I still want to run! But not long distances. It puts a lot of pressure on my bladder. Anyway, I’ve gotten in three strength training days, and three running days (3, 4, and 6 miles). Core work doesn’t seem to be my favorite, though. It never was, but now I can feel more pressure with it.
Symptoms: More pelvic pressure, round ligament pain when I turn in bed, and sometimes not even doing anything.
Movement: Nope. I’m hoping in the next couple weeks, though!
Food Aversions: Nothing in particular. I have found myself even eating things I didn’t like when I wasn’t pregnant. Weird.
Food Cravings: Nothing major. I was craving something cold yesterday. I wanted an ICE drink but we didn’t have any so I got a Sprite. Not the same thing by any means. It was also a beautiful day so I craved some ice cream or Rita’s so we satisfied that craving. Oh, I did crave a chicken quesadilla which I made on Tuesday.
Sleep: Pretty good! I get up at least once for the bathroom. I’ve been really exhausted though- I feel like worse than my first trimester somedays! Aaron thinks I just go to bed so I can wake up earlier but I really am exhausted come 9 o clock.
Maternity clothes?: Yes! Well, I went shopping with my mom and bought some maternity jeans. I found two pairs at Old Navy. They are slightly big but I’m not quite large enough right now, but my old things were getting too tight. I’m still wearing my nonmaternity work pants, though they aren’t so comfortable. I’ve also been given lots of maternity clothes from my cousin and friend, which is so helpful!
Stretch marks? Nope! Not yet. But, I am getting vericose veins. My mom had them when she was pregnant so I was destined for them. They aren’t bad but I can tell they will be appearing in full force.
Miss Anything? Not really. I did think about how nice it would have been to sit on our deck admiring all the work they did this weekend with a glass of wine, but that’s not even something I normally drink anyway. I still miss cookie dough. I need to get to that eggless stuff. I’ve had bits here and there but not as much as I usually had!
Fun & Weird Stuff From the Week: Nothing too weird. I have loved seeing Aaron get more excited about the baby. Now that I’m showing and the bump is getting larger, it’s becoming way more realistic. I’ve woken up to him with his hand on my stomach and he’s kissed it, which is too cute.
Belly Button in or out? Still in!
Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty happy. I’ve had some moments where I’ve gotten moody, though. Thankfully they aren’t often! As the weather gets warmer I’m way happier.
Baby Items Purchased: None. We went to a flea market and I had hopes of finding things but I didn’t. My mom did find a travel system stroller though! She was going to get a stroller at some point for her house. We bought one last year and she said to give it to Aaron’s parents. Well, this was an Eddie Bauer brand, only a few years old, and really nice! It came with the carseat and base so that’s really convenient. We won’t have to be switching carseats all the time. Anyway, that was fun and exciting for her. I’m still torn on the stroller ordeal. If you have any suggestions, send them my way! Also, did you love your diaper bag? What kind was it?
Looking Forward To: Finding out boy or girl in a few weeks, completing a half marathon with Baby Brown in tow, and having Monday off to relax with Aaron.
Jogging stroller: yay or nay? What kind?
How long did it take you for your pregnancy to feel real?
Are you a ice cream cone person or flurry person?
Aaron is more a cone lover, but I love the flurries. I actually don’t like ice cream cones at all and always throw them away!
