Oh hello second trimester. It was very nice to get to this point! We started sharing the news at 13 weeks at Thanksgiving, and shared with everyone around 14-15 weeks. It was so nice to finally have that off my chest! Here’s a look at weeks 13-16. I’ll try to get some better pictures for future posts.
Chasing after a toddler while being pregnant is not for the faint of heart. Good golly I basically collapse every night when she goes to bed! But, here we go.
What Baby Is Up To:
Baby has gone from being 3 inches (13 weeks) and weighing nearly an oz to 4 inches and 2 1/2 oz (15 weeks).
What Mom is Up to:
Weight gained: between 5-10 I believe. I didn’t look when I was at my 16 week appointment (a trend you’ll see…)
Symptoms: Peeing tons, at least once a night. More out of breath and lower back pain. I shouldn’t say pain but just feeling sore. Definitely thirsty towards the end of the day, too.
- Food, all the time, ha. Cheese is high on that list, along with eggs. I lived on eggs for quite a few weeks before they totally unappealed to me and now they’re back. Mixing with cheese and salsa is my favorite way to enjoy them.
- I love eating out and that’s so not me. It’s not good for our grocery bill, either.
- Mac n Cheese
- Chips and cheese. Went out for nacho cheese one night because I needed it.
- Mexican Food
Workouts have been going well! I teach one day a week, too. I did the 21 Day Fix completely during this time, adding in a day or two running throughout. Now I’ve been running maybe 2 times a week and then doing strength workouts. So far it’s been great and I love getting up to get them done. Well, the after feeling not when I am waking up 😉
Symptoms: Not too many. Lower back pain, and still tired. I felt congested for quite a while, too. I have sharp pain still near my right ovary, just like when I was first pregnant, but I haven’t worried about it.
Movement: Not at this point!
Besides waking up at least once a night to pee, I’m doing pretty good. There were a few times that I was up early in the morning tossing and turning but then went back. I feel pretty energetic and have been going to bed around 10-10:30 and getting up between 5:30-6 to workout. Some days I don’t but I’ve been trying to.
Maternity clothes: Nothing up until this point. I still fit into my regular clothes, which is nice, though some pants started getting a little snug.
Stretch Marks/ Varicose Veins: No stretch marks and hope I don’t get them! I do have the veins. I never shared it with Annabelle but I did have them then, right on my right thigh. They are puffy and gross, and this time around I got them even earlier. I actually have a few more already than her. I’m hoping they go away like they did when I had Annabelle.
Miss Anything: This was the perfect time for a glass of wine by the Christmas tree and for holiday parties, so I do miss that. But nothing else!
Happy or Moody: I can switch moods in the blink of an eye, lol. I’ve had lots of grumpy moods and I feel so bad for Aaron, haha. I try to snap out and apologize but there are some days it just sticks around. I also cry at a lot. For the most part, I’ve been happy!
That’s a wrap for weeks 13-15! There are probably things I’m forgetting, because that’s me, and because I just haven’t had time to really concentrate on this one while running after Annabelle!
