Baby boy could be here any day! I’ve been feeling really great up until this past Sunday, so I’m more than ready to meet him now!
If you’ve missed any updates:
36 Weeks: He weighs about 6 lbs and is about 18 1/2 in long. He is gaining oz by the day. He is about the size of a head of romaine lettuce.
37 Weeks: He’s about the size of a swiss chard, weighing about 6 1/3 lb and about 19 inches long. He is working on fully developing lungs and brain.
38 Weeks: He’s about the size of a leek, weighing about 6.8 lb and over 19 inches long. He has a firm grasp and his organs are mature enough for life outside the womb.
Workouts: Minimal. I stopped at 37 weeks working out. Up until then, I was doing 3 days strength and then a few walking days.
36- Heartburn got better! Wasn’t feeling it after every single thing I ate. Exhaustion still, and tons of Braxton Hicks. Also got a cold which totally sucked. Not sure if it’s more congestion during pregnancy or Annabelle’s cold but the cold and cough was quite annoying. Still up to pee 3049 times a night and it takes me a little while to get back to sleep.
37- Heartburn back with a vengence at night. Multiple times I woke up between 11-12 ready to puke from it being so terrible. Definitely tired by like 8 pm. Annabelle probably wants to stay up but I’m so over the day and just can’t wait to sit on the couch that she goes to bed, ha. Very emotional, as well. Cried numerous times and felt crazy anxiety a few days. Acne. I haven’t had any problems with my face for so long and then I got some random pimples on my chin
38- I bought some Zantac which helped a ton. I started getting some groin pain when my legs would give out. I also started with some rib cage pain in my back on Sunday. Add that to him kicking me in the ribs in the front, ha.
In general, Braxton Hicks are picking up and round ligament pain is still there. Both are worse when I’m walking for an extended amount of time.
Movement: Tons. He just flips and rolls all day long.
Food aversions: Just cooking in general!
Food cravings: still Oreo milkshakes. Fettuccine Alfredo is also on that list now, ha. Not much else sounds good to me.
Sleep: Up a ton to pee and then awake. Struggle sleeping past 6 most days. I honestly hate sleeping. It’s usually my favorite part of the day, ha but I just want to sleep on my stomach or my back and neither are options. My hips are sore and I feel like a whale trying to turn sides, ha
Maternity Clothes: OH yes. I’m sick of them, though. I’m sick of everything being tight on me
Stretch Marks: Yep. Just a few tiny ones on my side. Hoping that’s it!
Miss Anything: Sleep! And being able to play with Annabelle more. She’s been so goofy and so fun but I just can’t get up and down as much and I’m so tired come the evenings. I feel so bad!
Sneak peek at his nursery too!
Fun and Weird Stuff from the week: Nothing really weird but his room is all ready! Hoping to get pictures taken this week and share it on the blog next week! Hospital bags are packed. Nurses bags are packed. You can check here for what we did for Annabelle’s birth. I am a firm believer that the nurses do so much and don’t get as much credit so I just make a little something for them. I also have Annabelle’s gift ready to give her in the hospital as well.
Doctor’s Appts: I started weekly appointments at 36 weeks. I had the Strep test done which was negative, and internals started at 38 weeks. They told me he is head down and measuring well, as well as heart beat strong. We are closing in on the due date! Whereas with Annabelle I wouldn’t be induced until 10 days past my due date, this time they will not let me go more than a week past and I can choose to have it as early as 39 weeks. That’s where I’m at!
I had my 38 week appointment on Monday, and baby boy is head down, I’m 50% effaced, 1 cm dilated, and cervix open. Basically, nothing much, ha. Hopefully next week I am further along!
And a comparison for fun…
