HERE’S WHAT ELSE BABY BROWN HAS BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK:
- Weighs about 11 ounces
- About the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs 1 pound!
- She’s forming tooth buds beneath her gums
AND HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME THIS PAST WEEK:
Workouts: I took a bit of a cut down week this past week. I did quite a bit of walking and a strength workout. I talked more about these yesterday. I’m trying my best to stay active and want to as long as I can!
Symptoms: Round ligament pain, pelvic pain and pressure, increase thirst, hungry!, feeling big all over. My legs have gotten larger and I feel like my arms are. Sometimes I look at pictures and don’t like what I see, but just being honest here! Emotions are crazy. I can cry at basically anything. It’s crazy! I had sharp pains Saturday night into Sunday morning. It freaked me out because they were so bad and I wasn’t feeling her. Thankfully she ended up kicking and the pains went away. I think I was just super hungry! I’ve also been experiencing more headaches than I am used to. I typically only got them pre-pregnancy if I was dehydrated or hungry, but they seem to appear now more than just those reason.
Movement: Oh my gosh, yes! She’s going crazy in there. Just yesterday she was kicking and actually moved the paper that was on my lap! haha It’s so fun to feel her.
Food Aversions: None
Food Cravings: EL Fudge cookies. I finally got my hands on some, and go figure, they didn’t taste that great, ha! Ice cream, Fudgesicles, anything cold sounds great!
Sleep: Had a few terrible nights where I was up for an hour or two. I wake up pretty early regardless of what time I go to bed. I don’t really mind that, honestly. I want to sleep on my back so badly, even though I was never a back sleeper! I can still sort of sleep on my stomach, which is nice. My snoogle pillow is wonderful, but I hate the barrier between Aaron and I, ha!
Maternity clothes?: Yep. My workout clothes aren’t though. My shirts don’t all have to be maternity either. But pants, forget it, except yoga pants!
Stretch marks? I had stretch marks from when I went through puberty, but they are just white faint lines. I wasn’t huge but then but I was larger and when I got taller, I got the stretch marks. This week, I’ve noticed they seem a bit more prominent, at least to me. I haven’t noticed any different ones, though. I’ve been using Intensive Tummy Butter at night along with cocoa butter throughout the day.
Miss Anything? A good run, not being exhausted all the time.
Fun & Weird Stuff From the Week: We have the nursery all painted! Oh my gosh I just love it. We went with a light gray color on the walls, and then painted the baseboards white. We also got the crib! It was a great deal at Walmart and I couldn’t be happier with it. We also scored a crazy deal on a glider from someone so we got that this weekend also.
My mom painted our nursery, which we were so thankful for! Hoping to get the chair rail up this week and a ceiling fan put in with LED lights. I hate our fluorescent lights we have in there right now and Aaron wants a ceiling fan in there so we’re going to get one. It’ll be worth it, but I wanted a chandelier
Benson is a huge fan of the bedding and crib. He loves to lay on the quilt and go under the crib.
Benny and his crazy love for bouncy balls.
Belly Button in or out? Flat
Wedding rings on/off? On! Hoping it continues that way
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. I have gone into the nursery and just sat so many times. It’s overwhelming to think of all that will be coming our way in the next few months, but I am so so excited to meet our little girl!
Baby Items Purchased: The glider, some headbands and baby clothes. That’s it!
Looking Forward To: Going away for the weekend. It will be a short trip but it will be the last time we’re away by ourselves before she arrives! We’re heading to the Outer Banks for a wedding for my best friend! I can’t wait!
Telling me I can’t do something
There’s something that has been on my mind lately and I just want to share. I am pregnant, but I’m not handicapped. I’m lucky to be carrying this baby, but just because I’m carrying her doesn’t mean I can’t carry anything else. I’ve had so many people over the past week or so telling me I can’t lift this, or lift that because I’m pregnant. Mind you, these are all things that weigh almost nothing, and definitely lighter than I lift in my classes.
It frustrates me that people still think pregnant women are incapable of being active, doing things, and living their lives. There’s 100% a time to worry, but if it’s a healthy pregnancy, there’s not too much to worry about. Yes, we may take things down a notch, cut back on the intensity we are doing, and we may not push ourselves like we used to (all for good reason!). Thankfully, my family let’s me do what I can, and Aaron knows I’m not incapable (sometimes I wish he would think I was incapable of making dinner ).
Whew, end rant. Ha! Thanks for listening to me
