I’m not sure how we’re at 25 weeks already. Actually, we’re almost to 26 but I just couldn’t get around to taking a picture, ha! It’s crazy that there are only 15 weeks left! I am so excited to meet our little girl. So without further ado, here’s what’s been going on…
HERE’S WHAT ELSE BABY BROWN HAS BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK:
- She’s about 13 1/2 inches
- Weighs 1 1/2 pounds
- She has recognizable hair color, though it may change once born
- She’s the size of an eggplant
- She started rolling over
Excuse my complete exhaustion at the end of the day look.
AND HERE’S WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME THIS PAST WEEK:
Weight gained: 16 pounds
Workouts:. Three strength, two elliptical sessions, two walking sessions. Pretty good mix with all that I’m doing. I won’t lie- it’s hard to take an extra rest day, even though I know my body feels good when I do.
Symptoms: Leg cramps, acid reflux, a few headaches, hunger like whoa, some stomach cramping, and some bloody noses. Very thirsty at times. Honestly nothing crazy and for the most part, I feel like myself.
Gender: It’s a Girl!!
Movement: Oh yes. She loves to kick and punch. This week she started rolling over, too. Well, I think it was like the last day of last week, but she does it a lot now. A few other people have felt her kick and think it’s the coolest/weirdest thing. I agree. She also has seemed to recognize my touch. I had heard this was possible but didn’t think much of it. However, when I put my hand on my belly and press a bit, she usually kicks.
Food Aversions: Nothing!
Food Cravings: Watermelon is about all I’m really craving. I guess popsicles, too. Anything cold and refreshing sounds good to me!
Sleep: It’s ok. I’m still slightly sleeping on my stomach. There were a few nights I just couldn’t get comfortable, but that’s ok.
Maternity clothes?: Yep. I just stocked up on tanks and another pair of shorts, too.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Miss Anything? The refreshing alcoholic beverages at the wedding and baby shower
Fun & Weird Stuff From the Week: Seeing how excited Aaron gets around other baby girls now. When we were at the wedding Saturday, there were two little girls, a little over a year, dancing away and being adorable. Aaron was loving them and it was so cute to see how excited he is! I always love when he says goodnight to her or just puts his hand on my belly to feel her.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on/off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! My frustration level has gone down a bit and I’m just so excited to meet her.
Baby Items Purchased: The furniture. We bought a nightstand and dresser. I’m not positive we will keep the nightstand, but we will see.
Looking Forward To: Fourth of July party, people seeing the nursery, going on vacation at the end of the month.
Breastfeeding: am I doing it?
So here’s the thing, and I’m being completely honest here. However, keep in mind these are my thoughts and not yours, and everyone has their own So, I wasn’t breastfed, and my brother wasn’t either. It didn’t work when my mom tried with Matt, and so she didn’t try with me. I’d like to think I turned out fine on formula, but, of course, in this world , everything is about breastfeeding. I won’t lie- I was against it for a while. But, once I got pregnant, things changed.
There’s a few things I won’t hide that I love about breastfeeding- for one, it’s free, and two, it burns tons of calories and does great things for the recovery of the mom. It provides so many nutrients for the baby and is the best thing you can do for them, as well. I figured, why shouldn’t I try? I know it can be hard work for a lot of mommas, and I’m ready for it. I’m going to sign up for a breastfeeding class to know what to expect somewhat, and go from there. I will give it my all, and try my best. I’ve read from numerous people, though, that as much as they wanted it to try, it just didn’t.
Will I be heartbroken if it doesn’t work out? No. I would love to breastfeed for a while, but I don’t see myself doing it for upwards of a year or anything. I also plan on pumping and using bottles as well. I want Aaron to have that chance to feed her, too. I think it’s an important bond for him as well as me nursing her.
So there’s where I stand Hope I didn’t offend anyone but wanted to share my honest thoughts!
