Sorry this week is baby heavy! I’m trying to get the posts out so I’m on track! I’m planning one more this week with weeks 14 and 15 and then we’ll be all caught up and it’ll be back to regular posting! Thanks so much for all your kind words and excitement during this time! It definitely makes me even more excited!
I’m back with week 13. I still have weeks 14 and 15 to share to catch up, but they were both second trimester, so I figured I’d finish up the first trimester first!
Baby is the size of a peach! Baby Brown’s brain is also about half the size of his/her crown to rump length. Bones are beginning to form in the arms and legs, and the intestines are beginning to move from the umbilical cord to the abdomen (seriously so crazy!)
Not a fan of this question.
Same as previous weeks. Training for the half, teaching two nights, and resting whenever possible. I felt a bit better with my classes this week. I was still really out of breath, but I was able to do more of the cardio moves. I did tell my boss I was pregnant this week, and explained how my Tuesday night classes weren’t going super well. I asked if she had morning ones available, and to my surprise, she had just gotten word a teacher had to quit her mornings on Wednesdays and Fridays! I was offered both and she would find someone for Tuesday.
I’m feeling a lot better! Still getting sick after eating too much/too little food. It’s hard to find the balance! I’m not as tired, but still not totally myself. My need to use the bathroom every 2.5 minutes has also reduced! This one is my favorite, haha. I love not using the bathroom all the time!
None. Some food just doesn’t sound good after I eat it, though. Tortilla chips are also on my “not really a fan of” list. I will eat them if they are out for a dip or something, but I used to eat them frequently and now I don’t. Tea is still on my aversion list. So hard to not be sipping tea all the time!
Tacos one night. I ended up cooking multiple dinners this week and they were delicious! I haven’t gone out and bought anything that I’m craving though. I decided I needed to try to curb my cravings in different ways, and it’s working.
Eh, it’s ok. I’m still waking up early on the weekends, and struggling to get back to sleep. I’m definitely not waking up as much to go to the bathroom, though!
Best Thing this week? (Looking forward to)
We heard the heart beat! It was the most amazing sound. His/her heartbeat was 150 bpm.
We also told everyone we were pregnant. We had kept it hidden until this week. I started with the ladies I work with and my boss, then moved on to friends, life group, more friends, family, and then finished telling people on Easter. I actually wasn’t as much of a fan of telling people as I thought. In case you missed it, here’s how we told everyone. It was nerve-wracking though!
I think it’s a girl, but I’m 90% sure I’m going to be wrong, haha.
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases?
I didn’t buy anything, but I did get a cute baby pillow from my mom for Easter, and then an adorable outfit set from my cousin Jenn on Easter. I had told her a few days ago, so she knew I was pregnant.
Any Fun Stories?
Just telling everyone! It was so nice to have everyone know we were pregnant. I think the reactions when I said I was 12 ½ weeks pregnant were the best. No one had a clue but everyone was so excited for us! It makes me even more excited! <3
And with that, I’m off! Have a great day!
