Good morning! I am so glad to be back with you all, and have missed you greatly! A huge THANK YOU to my wonderful guest posters, and all of you for reading! I really appreciated having them take over the blog. I am slowly working through the comments from last week! I really took time to unplug (again) and enjoyed it. Our phones didn’t work at the beach, and the wifi quit working halfway through the week, basically forcing us to enjoy the company of others.
Our vacation was wonderful, and our anniversary was even better, but that will all have to wait! We drove through the night Friday night, arriving home at 7am Saturday morning, before a fun day Saturday, and another busy Sunday. I have a lot to fill you guys in on, so I hope you are ready.
Couldn’t get enough of us when we got home.
After a quick snooze in our own bed (SO nice!) and a cuddled up Benson (he missed us greatly!), we headed over to our friend Brittany’s parents house. In fact, we just went to her house for a house warming. Last year, her parents started hosting Beer Olympics, but we were on our honeymoon, and this year we could join! They have their friends there, Britt’s friends, her brother’s friends. We knew it would be so fun!
Beer Olympics consists of 8 games, and 8 teams. Each team represents a country. We had Japan, Italy, England, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and USA. I was on team Italy, and Aaron was on USA. Unfortunately, we found out when we arrived he was now on team Germany instead of USA. He went all out on his USA outfit, anyway!
I was a bit nervous about these games given I was sick on Friday, and I’m not a big drinker. Thankfully, you basically drink what you want. I had probably a cup and a half of beer throughout the day, and 4 bottles of water. Basically, it was no big deal! Of course, if you wanted to drink more, you could! This also goes with saying, since I’m not a huge drinker, I’m not a huge drink gaming girl, ha. I was a bit nervous!
The games were: Flip Cup, Beer Pong, Civil War (two teams face each other, and you keep throwing the pong balls at the other teams cups (one cup per person) until they are gone), Dizzy Bat (drink some, spin around a bat 5 times, and try to hit the ball thrown at you), Can Jam (frisbee game), Polish horseshoes (frisbee game), quarters (definitely not my best game!), and Canoe Races. The entire team plays each game, except Polish Horseshoes and Can Jam, which only has two players from each team play.
Team Italy, though, was rockin! I had an absolute blast, and ended up being pretty good at the games! I scored the last cup in order to win Beer Pong, and held my own at Flip Cup! Dizzy bat was also a good one.
We were supposed to wear orange as it was the last color not taken by other teams. Britt wore Red, and her dad represented Italy
We were having a complete blast. It was so fun to be around friends and just doing something other than sitting on the couch talking. There was soo much food, too! Each person was supposed to bring something from their country. Aaron took Doritos for USA, but I didn’t take anything. Just getting back from vacation didn’t give me much time.
Unfortunately, storms rolled in around dinner time. It definitely broke things up, and it was hard to get going again. Around 7:30, Aaron and I left. We were totally exhausted from the night before, and needed to get home and relax/sleep. Thankfully, it was no problem, and the games continued! We missed out on Canoe Races and Can Jam, but that was ok. We still had a great day and we loved going!
Yesterday I began teaching a “Intense Cardio” class at the gym. Basically, I’m teaching Insanity, and it’s easier to say that than Intense Cardio, but since I’m not a BeachBody coach, we can’t call it that. I have completed the program (two winters ago) and loved it, so I’m excited to be teaching! I only had one person come since it was the first day, but I didn’t mind. I got my feet wet without the fear of disappointing others. I forgot how ridiculously hard these workouts were, though!
I rushed home before heading to a bridal shower, which I’ll save for another day!
Now your turn! Fill me in on your week and weekend. Let me know what I’ve missed!
Linking up with Katie for some MIMM!
