It’s another wonderful Monday because It’s MIMM! Let’s wrap up the marvelous things that happened this weekend!
After my not so great run on Friday, I headed into work. I haven’t mentioned it, but I was offered a long term sub job until the end of the year. It has been fantastic to know where I am going everyday, making lesson plans again, interacting with the kids on a more regular basis, and feeling a part of a school, instead of just there for a day here and there. Friday happened to be the 4th grade picnic. They went to a park close by to spend the day. I have never heard of such a thing, but it was amazing! The kids loved it. I was lucky that I was able to go for the morning! I had duty during lunch time so I had to get back for that, but I was really excited to take part at least for the morning.
After school, I went to Bridget’s house to see her all dressed up for Prom! She looked beautiful!
I can’t believe she is a senior already! Well, actually she has a week left of being a senior, but same thing!
I came home and took a quick nap, and was awoken by Aaron His gift was so thoughtful to me! There is a pottery store around us that I mentioned a while ago that I would love go there with my mom. His gift for me was “a trip to the pottery place for you and your mom to spend quality time before I call you mine.” Isn’t that the best?! He also bought me a new Heart Rate Monitor. He bought one that connects to my phone.. a Polar version, but different than I’d seen. However, I think I am going to return it so I can use the watch. I feel like it will be one more thing that kills my battery! Regardless, it is exactly what I wanted, so I was very happy!
My family and I headed out for a delicious dinner at TGI Friday’s on Friday night. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of eating out. However, Aaron won 20% off the entire meal through a Pen’s promotion, and Matt had a free appetizer coupon! I’m quite the bargain hunter, so this was perfect for me!
We started off with some of their warm pretzels, and some nacho chips. I ordered the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta for dinner. I was already full from the appetizers, and it was very spicy, so I didn’t eat too much! Haha It was really good, though, and a perfect birthday dinner!
Later that night, I headed out to SaddleRidge, which is a bar in Pittsburgh. It is a country bar, and lots of line dancing happens! There also happens to be a bull you can ride, and which I didn’t want to ride. Aaron made me do it! It wasn’t as bad as I thought, and my muscles definitely helped
Before riding it..
Embarrassing.. I know
The best thing about riding the bull was that I wasn’t even close to being drunk. I am not a big drinker, at all. In fact, I would be content with water anywhere I go. (However, I do not judge anyone else for drinking! It just doesn’t mix with Colitis very well…) Since it was my birthday, I did have a few drinks, but nothing crazy! Aaron laughs because so many times our friends will think I am so drunk because I am having fun and dancing like crazy. Apparently they don’t think you can do that without drinking? Anytime I bust out some of my super sweet dance moves (ha) Aaron tells me I’m so drunk. I’m glad I can have fun without needed to drink!
It was a beautiful day! I headed out to do some shopping with my mom- managed to find a few new sports bras- and met one of our friends for lunch! He lives in NYC but was in for his graduation for his Master’s this weekend! It was so good to see him! Shortly after, I headed out on the boat for the afternoon! Beautiful day for some boating. Unfortunately, the water is still too cold to go in, but still a blast being out there!
I ended the night visiting Emily, my maid of honor, who happens to be in town this weekend for her sister’s graduation! I love catching up with her and just hanging out! Doesn’t happen too much because she lives in Florida!
I started off the day bright and early with a run in the park! I ate some Clif Shot Blocks along my run, and felt find during and after it! Might need to stock up on those! Mountain berry is such a delicious flavor! I then had a pretty lazy day. I hung out with Aaron’s family for a bit, went to the grocery store, enjoyed the day outside, and just relaxed! I have come to find I need relaxation time, now more than ever, but that is a huge topic for another day!
Hope you all had a Marvelous weekend!
Have you ever ridden a bull (real or fake)?
Is there something that makes your friends think you have been drinking, but really haven’t?
When you go out, are you more into the pasta dishes, or chicken and beef dishes?
