This is the first Tuesday I have worked in 5 weeks. Wowza. This week should be a full five day work week, and I’m sure it will feel like the longest thing ever! While I could continue to complain about my life (just kidding; it’s pretty fabulous!), it’s time to get up and get sweaty!
I still haven’t been able to run without pain, which is a really big bummer. I still try to run, but most times I need to take a break to step off and try to stretch my toes. I can still workout, which I’m very thankful for!, and just change up some workouts. For instance, I can’t do lunges very well, plyos with jumping haven’t occurred, and morning workouts are the worst. Whatever reason, my toe hurts worse first thing in the morning.
With that being said, I still love to run, and last week I wanted to run after school. But, I also wanted to do some strength training. I combined the best of both worlds, knowing I could use some breaks from the treadmill throughout.
This worked perfectly! I felt two miles on the treadmill was enough time without getting bored, and I still played around with speeds. The second mile in the second set, and 10 minutes during the third I did some HIIT, keeping my body guessing some more. I loved how I felt after this, and it is sure to be making another appearance soon.
If you should have any questions, please just ask! I mentioned this workout can be tailored to fit your needs. Maybe you can only walk right now; that’s great! If you feel better with a 3 mile workout, do 1 mile each time. If you want 4, repeat the circuit one more time! It can be tailored to whatever you want, and feels great when you finish!
And with that, I’m off to work! Hope you all have a great day!
What’s your max time on the treadmill?
I think 7 miles was the longest, right before my surgery (I shut the treadmill off after 4 and restarted it; confused my brain )
What do you do to keep from getting bored on the treadmill?
I read blogs. Running in the morning when my feed is full is the best way to complete my run. I knock off two birds with one stone. Yes, I realize not everyone can do this, but the words appear pretty large on the app on my iPad. I also read slower, making the time go faster! Haha If I don’t have blogs to read, I watch Netflix on the iPad. I’m currently half way through Safe Haven. I love that movie
