It rained yesterday for the first time in like 3 weeks. It was such a gloomy day, and though it stopped us from the zoo, it was sort of what was needed! After a few too many crazy days in a row, we finally just laid low, for the most part, that is.
Our week was full of craziness, but seemed to pass by as fast as I could hope! I’m hoping this morning to get in another early morning workout, which would mean 5/5 days this week! But, I may choose to sleep in a bit instead.
Yesterday was my dad’s birthday, so we headed to my parents for a lasagna dinner last night. Um, delicious! Annabelle and I made cookies yesterday afternoon because you definitely need cookies for birthdays!
When we arrived back home after dinner, I noticed the basement seemed cleaner. Then we walked upstairs and I knew it was cleaner. My sweet mother in law knew we were away and came over to clean our house. Much appreciated!
Emily and her son Bennett, and us, were planning on the zoo yesterday, but the potential rain stopped us, and I’m glad it did because it poured in the late morning. Nothing about having two kids and a double stroller in the rain sounded appealing so hopefully next week we’ll get there! Instead, Emily came over and we caught up after literally a few months of opposite schedules. It was much needed.
Annabelle’s favorite thing is to “match” mommy, so she was ecstatic she had toes that matched mommy! I love it just as much as her. I always dreamed of having a girl to do these things with.
Nolan seems to be lengthening his wake times, and while this is totally screwing up his schedule and night sleep (mostly early mornings), it is giving me more freedom! We made it to Walgreens, Claires, and the play area, as well as Trader Joes on Wednesday. I have been feeling a bit too stuck in our house so it’s nice to get that freedom.
Benson hasn’t been making an appearance lately, but he’s still around and still my little snuggle bug. You can find him crying to go outside, or sleeping in Annabelle’s room 99% of the time.
I’ve been making more of an effort to get out and go on walks with the kids. I’m still searching for a used double jogging stroller to go for runs, but Aaron mentioned a walk after dinner on Wednesday and I was totally up for it. The kids loved it, and it was a beautiful night to get some fresh air.
I signed Annabelle up for art class at the library and totally forgot last month to go (it’s once a month). Thankfully I remembered this month and we headed there on Monday evening. She loved it. She kept saying “No mommy, I do” and she did a great job with her pumpkin! I’m in disbelief she will be 2 in 8 days. Gahh!!
I literally love these two more than life. So I have to share.
With that, I’m off to enjoy this weekend! Hope you have a good one, too!
