These are some of my favorite posts to read from others, and I’ve even looked back at mine many times before. They’re so fun to see what changed. I also always tell myself I won’t be so detailed with these, but gosh it happens anyway! Grab some tea and take a peek into a day in my life with two kiddos. No two days are ever the same! Lots of pictures, too, so get ready!
5:10 Wake up and check monitor. Try to go back until 5:33 when Nolan needed fed. Feed him and back to bed by 5:45. Hear Aaron’s alarm and him get up while trying to get back to sleep. Say bye to him.
6:50 wake up. Both kids still sleeping, scroll through social media. Decide to get up and pump, make tea, warm some milk for A. Annabelle wakes up and is just chilling in her crib.
7:10 Get Annabelle and we snuggle on the couch while she watches Doc McStuffins and drinks milk as I scroll through some blogs and attempt to drink my tea while still warm.
7:40. My mom finished at Burn Bootcamp and stopped over on her way to my brothers
7:55 Nolan wakes up! Just kidding. Went in and he was still sleeping. Debated going to bootcamp but I’ve been having some weird stomach pains and ultimately don’t feel like rushing or waking Nolan up.
8:15 breakfast! Oats and strawberries for Annabelle and Oats and cookie butter for me and my mom leaves
8:35 Pumping again because Nolan is still sleeping and don’t want to go too long before next feeding. Annabelle is just about done eating . And making a mess, of course. I change out of my PJs, finally.
8:50 Nolan finally wakes up and greets us with a smile! Annabelle turns off his sound machine and we get him out of his crib. I feed him while Annabelle plays with some toys nearby. Then I decide to hit the grocery store.
9:45 Finish at the grocery store and head home. We hang out in the basement for a few minutes before Nolan needs to go down for his nap. Dude was super fussy the whole ride home and even once we got home. I have no idea why because it’s not typical for him! I peek around the basement too and realize it’s a mess but don’t want to deal with it!
10:05 Nolan asleep, playtime with Annabelle outside
10:40 Nolan awake. 10:50 Nolan won’t go back so into the ergo he goes to finish his nap. During this time, A sort of needs to play more independently, which isn’t something she likes if I have Nolan. But we dance around, she plays a game with pipe cleaners, we move outside and swing and go down the slide.
11:50 head inside to make lunch. Cut up cantaloupe, green peppers, ham. Fix Annabelle’s plate and mine. Nolan wakes up and screams bloody murder for food. I finally have time to pee, ha! He was not a fan and screamed louder.
12:05: Eat lunch, feed Nolan, watch Annabelle steal my food from my plate (Even though she has the same.thing.all.the.time)
12:45 Lunch is over, I’m sort of cleaning up the table and Annabelle, Nolan is hanging out on the floor. Then we all play for a few minutes before Annabelle goes in for her nap at 1. Yep, both kids on my lap. The jealousy is high with Annabelle once Nolan is awake.
1:05 Nolan is just not having it today. He is super fussy, and won’t let me put him down. It’s exhausting! I was hoping to run while he was awake but no go. He also has spit up quite a bit. Typically, Nolan is so happy, so the fussiness is just odd. He lasted a few minutes in his bouncy seat while I made our dinner for tonight (sandwiches since we’d be at the pool) and cleaned up the mess of a kitchen.
Ugh check out that onesie! Talk about spit up.
1:30 Nolan is in and I head to the treadmill. I got in a 3 mile run and showered and put on my swimsuit for late. Then ate a Rice Krispy treat and started this post.
2:23 Nolan is awake Try to get him back and grab another Rice Krispy treat. Decide he needs to get back to sleep and I head in to rock him and camp out to get him back to sleep. What is his deal!
2:30 Rock Nolan asleep and see Annabelle is awake at 2:45, which isn’t exactly like her. Last week she was taking 2-2.5 hour naps, and this week it’s not even 2. Add that in with her early morning wake ups, and I’m not sure what’s going on. She does have a tooth popping through so maybe that’s it.
3:08 Transfer Nolan to the swing, walk out of his room and into Annabelle’s to get her. Hang out with her for a few minutes and then hear Nolan crying at 3:14. Usually the transfer works but whatever, not this time! Feed him, give Annabelle a pouch and graham cracker and turn on The Wiggles, then hurry up change her, finish packing the car, and head off to the Wave Pool! Aaron met us there.
4-6:15 Swim, swim, swim! Nolan gets his toes in the water, Annabelle is her normal fish once she warms up, we ate dinner, Nolan ate, and then I left around 6:15 to get him home for his last nap. I knew there was a lot to get done at home, so I was fine with it.
6:30-7 Got home, unpacked all.the.things (Seriously you’d never know how much you need for a 3hour trip to the wave pool!), put Nolan on the ground to kick a bit, then put him down for a nap, finished Aaron’s lunch for tomorrow, cleaned the kitchen, showered (Again- nasty wave pool lol), and did the garbage. Oh, I grabbed a cookie dough ball from the freezer, too. Mmm.
7:00 Sat down to work on this post and Benson curled up in my lap. Poor thing doesn’t get all the lovin’ anymore, so I was happy to snuggle for a few minutes.
7:15 Aaron and Annabelle come home, and I ship them off to shower and bathe off that wave pool chlorine. I continue this post while drinking some tea. We ate some Bean and Rice chips and hung out on the couch after. I wonder if I should wake up Nolan. I don’t want him sleeping too long because of bedtime. Hmm.
8:00 Annabelle goes in and we do PJs and read books for her before she goes down. I immediately hit the couch because America’s Got Talent is on! Aaron bathes Nolan and we feed him around 8:30, as well. He goes to bed. Aaron is great and takes over basically everything with Nolan each night to give me a break! He’s the best.
I am finishing this before I head to bed but I will pump around 9/9:15 and then be in bed by 10. Oh, and I’ll probably have a glass of wine with America’s Got Talent, because, it’s been a day! Ha
So there you have it! Typically Nolan wakes around 8. Some days we go to the gym. Some days we don’t go anywhere. Some days he naps well on his own the entire day. Some days he doesn’t. He rarely is as fussy as he was today, but he did get happier as the evening went on. Some days both kids nap at the same time leaving me with 2 hours to myself. Some days I never stop moving. Most afternoons we don’t head out and play outside or inside before Aaron gets home around 4:30/5 and we eat at 6.
Do you watch America’s Got Talent?
What’s the favorite part of your day?
Linking up with Amanda for thinking out loud!
