What a fun weekend! I felt all sorts of productive with all things Christmas. Let’s not talk about our empty fridge or lack of meal planning for the week Let’s ride high on the Christmas train!
Friday night wasn’t anything crazy. Annabelle and I headed out to a few stores and I finished up my Christmas shopping!
Saturday morning I woke up early and got in a 4 mile run and while I was showering, Annabelle ended up falling back asleep (she stays in her crib until 7 regardless of when she wakes up. I saw she was up when I jumped in the shower but apparently she was still tired. While she slept, I started meal planning, ate breakfast, drank tea, and took in my Christmas decorations. She woke up at 8, and we let Aaron sleep til 9ish as he worked so hard on Friday with the kitchen. She was such a snuggler; I never wanted it to end!
After a relaxing morning and nap time, we went in search of our Christmas tree! Originally we planned to get it cut down from a local place, but there weren’t many to choose from, so we tried the Boy Scouts, which were far too expensive, so our $40 tree from Home Depot is perfect. Our trees have grown in the past few years, so this year we took it back to basic with a 6 ft skinnyish tree.
We brought it home and then it was decorating time! Annabelle had a blast running around and playing with the decorations.
As she went down for her afternoon nap, Aaron worked on the garage, and I started wrapping presents. I didn’t think I’d get far, but I wrapped all of them! We enjoyed Penn A La Vodka for dinner, made chocolate chip cookies, and then Aaron and I watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation before calling it a night. I was beat! Fun Fact: Saturday was mine and Aaron’s 12 year dating anniversary! Isn’t that crazy?
We all woke up feeling a little blah on Sunday. We all have a nagging cough that is more annoying than anything. We did the usual- breakfast, church, nap. Then I tackled the outside decorations! Aaron continued plugging away at the cabinets so I put up all the lights and inflatables. He still needs to put the lights on the house as I didn’t want to do that on my own, but I’m excited that our house doesn’t look like the Grinch house anymore! This is the latest any of our decorations have gone up. Oops! That’s what a kitchen remodel in the midst of holidays does to ya!
My dad stopped over in the afternoon, I worked on a few projects, and made dinner during naptime. Aaron had his hockey game and once he came home, it was dark so Annabelle got to see our outside decorations!
Still need some lights around the house before it’s complete!
