Hey, guys! How was your weekend? Are you feeling rested and ready for the week ahead? I’m honestly feeling more prepared than previous weeks, and wayyy less stressed than last week at this time!
Anyway, this weekend was perfect. I have neglected using Sundays for productivity for weeks, and finally I stopped using A’s nap times as my nap times and got to work. But, let’s start with Friday!
I went to my parents to pick up A after work where I witnessed some great 5 Little Monkey’s being portrayed on my parent’s bed! Seeing Annabelle jump on the bed was hilarious! We had to go to her 15 month well check next, and then came home. I headed out to dinner with my friend’s a little bit later to BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. It opened a few months ago but I had never been. I tried going once with friends but it was too long of a wait. Sadly, this time we still had about an hour wait. We made the most of it, and the staff even brought out Sriracha Brussel Sprouts and Root Beer Glaze Boneless wings to snack on while we waited! Definitely a highlight of the wait.
I could not for the life of me decide what I wanted to eat. I ended up going with the Create Your Own Deep Dish pizza which was delicious. We also shared the appetizer platter, so by the time my food came, I could barely finish 2 slices of pizza! It made for great leftovers, though. Their lunch menu looked delicious, and seeing as I was too full to enjoy a pizookie at the end, I obviously will be making a return for lunch fairly soon! They are known for their large beer selection, but since I can’t have that right now, I went for a Root Beer which was so.good. I ended up going to bed around 9:30 and it felt amazing.
Saturday morning we went out to have breakfast at Panera Bread and then let Annabelle run around the mall for a little bit. It hadn’t opened yet, so it was empty.
We came home, played around the house some more, A took a nap, we had lunch, and then ran errands to Walmart and Aldi to get ready for the week ahead. We all took naps and then Matt and Shelby came over around 5:30 and hung out with us for the rest of the night. Aaron also built a fire which was so cozy and warm.
Sunday morning we went to church, A took a nap and I went food prep crazy. I peeled and sliced sweet potatoes, roasting half for the beginning of the week and saving others for mid week to cook. I made hard boiled eggs for snacks, No bake energy balls, cut and divided veggies for lunches this week, prepped Kodiak pancakes and overnight oats for the week, and cut up fruit for the week. I felt like super woman during her nap! I even had a few minutes to sit down and write my meal planning and workout schedule post I posted yesterday!
The afternoon went by fairly quickly with laundry, dishes, singing and dancing as well as making cookies! Aaron went to his hockey game, we had dinner, and then the Steelers game started! I will be in bed way before it’s over so I can’t attest to how it ends, but I’m hoping it ends well for us, ha.
This weekend had plenty of family time, less stress, time with friends, and just full of relaxation. It was much needed and I’m counting down until we can have another family weekend!
