Hey all! I hope you had a fabulous Easter, and didn’t indulge too much in the candy! I had very little candy, but only because I filled up on sweets through cookies and Cinnamon rolls! It’s only fitting to share my marvelous day on MIMM!
I awoke to my Easter basket! Filled with the one candy I love, but hardly ever buy myself. I will not make any guarantees for how long this lasts!
My day started bright and early with church with my family. I knew we would be having brunch after church, so I wasn’t going to eat anything before church. Wouldn’t you know, I woke up starving! I didn’t have time for anything, but I have not been that hungry in the longest time!
Turned into comfy outfit.
Our breakfast was delicious. I had some cheesy eggs, bacon, and a cinnamon roll! We also had sausage, but I’m not a huge sausage lover, at all.
(Cinnamon roll recipe coming this week!)!
After finishing up my breakfast, chilling with the fam, and painting my moms nails, I headed over to Aaron’s! His family ended up heading to a later service, so we had brunch around 12:30 over there. I wasn’t very hungry, but found some room for a little bit of pasta salad!
Aaron’s Brother and I
His nephew Roman was there, and it was just such a blast. Roman let me hold him, and laughed away in my arms. He was going between Aaron and I for a while, which made me a pretty happy girl that he didn’t need his dad all the time!
We also tried taking family photos. Have I mentioned that Aaron has 5 brothers and 1 sister? They tried to get all the men in the house into a picture! This included the dog and cat who are also male. However, they missed his dad. Not sure where he was when this was taking place.
Since the guys all got a picture together, Rachael and I had to, also!
Roman was being such a goof for some of those pictures! We got some good ones, though, that were just spur of the moment and I love those even more!
Uhm, this melted my heart.
We finished up eating food, taking pictures, and playing with Roman, and headed over to my Aunt’s house. She has Easter every year, and we all have a great time! She had some appetizers; Spinich and Artichoke dip, Asparagus and Sausage dip, some punch, and some chocolate!
Love my cousin!
Our main course included ham, potatoes, deviled eggs, kielbasa, Japanese coleslaw, baked beans, and probably some other things I missed! I didn’t take a picture of it, but only because I wasn’t very hungry and it looked pretty skimpy by the time I made my way in!
Even if there wasn’t any room for more dinner, I had room for dessert! I made my chocolate chip bars, my cousin Jenn made a Chocolate pudding pie, and my aunt made a Candy Pizza! It looked awesome, and I heard it was pretty good! It was a base of a sugar cookie, but topped with a lot of different candy, and caramel drizzled on top. I am not a fan of most of the toppings (many had nuts) so I didn’t try a piece, but it did get rave reviews!
Of course we had plenty of laughs for the day. In our family, we try to save any furniture people have! If someone is getting rid of something, it is always offered up to the rest of the family. Well, my uncle was getting rid of his China closet, and my aunt thought she could use it to save some space upstairs, and put it downstairs. So, the men moved it from the truck downstairs, only to find out it wouldn’t stand! My aunt did measure, but couldn’t turn to get it to stand up.
Contemplating what to do!
At one point, I asked how many engineers were down there working on it, to which my cousin Jon replied 3!
Jenn and I made excellent spectators to this fiasco!
Eventually they took the legs off, removed the back, unscrewed different parts, made it into two pieces, and then got it to stand! My aunt had said forget it basically at the beginning of this process, but it became a challenge and no one would quit until it was up!
Just because my momma is so cute and I love her!
I finished off the night with a nap on the couch with Aaron! My car was parked at Aaron’s so I decided to head in and hang out until The Walking Dead came on (his whole family watches it, and I can’t do it!). Aaron and I ended up being wiped out, and fell asleep for a bit on the couch. Perfect way to end our weekend!
Aaron’s brother, Alex, loves catching us looking our best!
