I haven’t recapped the last two days I had with the kids, so let’s do that. Mmk?
After picking up Charlotte, we did head to Target for hot dogs and slurpees. Charlotte went down for a nap as soon as we got home, but once she woke up, we dyed some Easter eggs! I wasn’t sure how this would go, and was fully prepared to get very dirty and stained. Luckily! They were all fantastic (even Charlotte!) and we had zero problems dying any eggs.
I brought numerous “goodies” from home for the kids, and kept them stashed until I felt they needed a pick me up! Charlotte and Peter got their next gift during Charlotte’s nap. The time just seemed appropriate!
It was sunny outside!
Being that we stayed very healthy throughout the week, I felt like I should spoil them the last few days Therefore, we went to Tillamook for some ice cream! Charlotte can take down ice cream, let me tell ya!
Our day began with a trip to Einstein’s bagels! Following with the spoiling aspect, I thought breakfast out sounded good! They have been so awesome about eating fruits, veggies, and nutritious meals, and I thought they needed something besides cereal, oatmeal, and yogurt for breakfast. They agreed. They all seemed to enjoy it!
Emma and Peter’s school had a book fair all week. Today happened to be the only day we could all get there on time. They each received a book, and a small accessory! Emma actually already finished her chapter book. She is such a studious student! I was able to meet both of their teachers, too, and they both welcomed me in and told me all about the class!
I really wanted to go to the zoo afterwards. I am a sucker for the zoo, but we really didn’t have time. It was already after 10, I knew lunch would be coming up, and a nap for Char. I thought about skipping the nap and just packing some lunch, but Emma really didn’t want to go to the zoo for some reason! Even with the newborn elephant!
What else could we do? Make play dough! Emma and Peter helped me out in making it. Charlotte wanted to, but I did not want her around the gas stove being that she is still small! She ended up not even wanting to play with the kind we made! The others liked it, though
I may have created some creatures myself
Emma made a zoo with her playdough!
This kept them quite busy until lunch time, and then I had a surprise for them! I loaded them up, and took them to get some frozen yogurt. I know, I know, we just had ice cream yesterday, but it was my last day to spoil them, and it is yogurt, right? All that matters is that it made them all super happy, which was good because they were really missing their parents today and couldn’t wait for them to get home!
The rest of the day was filled with some downtime for Peter after playing with his friends a lot outside, naptime for Charlotte, play date for Emma, kitchen cleaning for me! We also went to Pizza night (a weekly occurrence with 4 or 5 families!). I was able to meet Kristy and Bill’s friends and their children, which was so enjoyable! It was nice to have adult conversations after a week of conversations with kids
Off to watch some more basketball games for Emma and Peter since I am in town! They have asked me all week if I would be here for their last games! I’m thinking I may take some time to head out to the little town around here and check out the stores. There are St. Patrick’s Day festivities occurring by Charlotte’s school, but it is supposed to rain, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen! We shall see.
What festivities are you taking part in today? Have you ever made play dough? What’s your favorite animal at the zoo? Do you have a night every week to hang out with your friends?
