We’ve been trying to get to Idlewild Park and Soakzone since the beginning of June. The weather gods had it out for us, and the forecast every Friday was rain. We wanted to go on a Friday when Aaron was off due to crowds and it was just rain every week. We finally decided to basically say screw it on Friday, and even though there was a chance in the afternoon, we headed out anyway. We got to the park about 5 minutes after it opened, and we went to Storybook forest first, then rode some rides before making it to Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood. Daniel Tiger is our latest obsession around here, so she loved it! We rode the trolley through his neighborhood, rode rides, and even saw a Daniel Tiger show live! Annabelle’s face was pretty straight faced the entire day as she took everything in. She’s never been to something like this, but she just kept asking for more when rides stopped or the trolley stopped. We did have a sprinkle while in line for the trolley, and then the rides closed for about 45 min due to a storm nearby around 3. It did end up pouring for about 10 minutes, but both kids were passed out in the stroller, so it worked in our favor! We found a big ball pit after Annabelle woke up until the rides opened, and then we hit up Soak zone for some water fun. It was such a fun day and I’m so glad we decided not to listen to the weathermen and went anyway!
Saturday morning, both kids slept in, and I got in a run after we all woke up. My mom came and picked up A to go hang out at her house for the day and take a nap there because we were going to Beer Olympics literally a street over. She had a blast, and I had to bribe her to come to the party with us! I did manage to do some shopping for her and picked up my bridesmaid dress while she was gone! We all met up at the Beer Olympics, which is the 4th or 5th year, I can’t remember. It’s always a good time!
Sunday morning both kids slept in and we had a quiet morning. We took a walk outside because it was in the 60s and just felt gorgeous out, and after A napped, we went to the park with my BIL and his family! Aaron had a hockey game around dinner, but was back in time for books and bedtime for A.
It was such a fun weekend! I wish it never ended, but back to reality!
