Let’s recap yesterday, shall we?
I started the morning off with a 2 mile run. I love teaching my classes, but I hate that I wait around until 5:30 at night to do so. Starting the day off with a run was perfect. It was very humid outside, so I just hopped on the treadmill.
After a not so great breakfast of cereal, I was off for a day of errands.
First up: Walmart.
When we go to Deep Creek, each person is assigned a list of items to bring. This was my first year bringing anything because only married couples do so! I bought the majority of our things at Walmart. It was basic stuff, like dish soap, toilet paper, Lysol wipes, etc. I then headed to Aldi where I picked up a lot of our food for Friday’s Fourth of July party. I felt great getting most of the food, but am holding off on some fruit and the hamburger/hot dog buns until later in the week!
Just a fraction of the things we bring to Deep Creek.
The last place I needed to go was Target. They had Coke products on sale for 4/$11, and I knew I needed plenty for the party this week! I was happy to get that taken care of, along with buying some bins to put the pop in! Aaron and I realized we don’t have coolers, and had no where for our pop and water to go. I originally wanted to buy a Fourth of July inflatable cooler, but when shipping exceeded the price of the cooler, I skipped it. I ended up with two storage bins for $4 that can be used to store stuff after. I call that a win 😉
This little bugger was my buddy while I worked throughout the day I’m not complaining
After arriving home and unpacking all the groceries, I headed out to meet my girlfriends for lunch! It ended up we were all able to get away from working and meet up at Max and Erma’s. This is one of my favorite places to eat! I love so much of their food, but the Tortilla Soup will always be a winner.
After an afternoon of catching up with my girlfriends, and making sure things were ready for tonight, I made my way to teach my class. I still get nervous before each class, and don’t know why! As soon as that music starts, and we get warming up, I am perfectly fine and the hour flies by.
We focused completely on strength training. My class is typically 10 minutes of warm up moves, and practicing moves with lighter weights to make sure our form is correct. Depending on the class, I might do circuits, or just focus on body parts for about 35-40 minutes. I then finish with about 10 minutes of abs and stretching. It works for me, and I have been getting good feedback! Last night I focused on body parts and made sure to feel the burn before moving on. I came home aching, so clearly that means it’s a winner!
While we are talking about workouts… it’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for another workout!
We actually did this workout last week in my Interval Sculpt class. I loved it and the class really worked hard! I could tell by their dripping faces and exhausted bodies at the end!
Start with a warm up, and complete each circuit 3 times before doing the cardio once and moving on to complete the next circuit 3 times. We finished with some core work and then a cool down.
As always, let me know if you give this a try!
