I hope all the momma’s out there had a fantastic Mother’s Day! In case you missed it, I posted a couple times over the weekend!
Alright, this weekend was a good one, even if I didn’t end on the best note. Let’s catch up!
The weekend kicked off with an Oprah Cinnamon Chai Tea Iced Latte. It’s so much better than Starbucks regular chai tea latte. Friday continued with some pizza for dinner, a night looking up baby things (#overwhelming) and a hockey game for Aaron! It was a good one.
Saturday began bright and early, literally so bright. The sun came up and was shining! I finally got out of bed at 7, and decided with a day that was only getting hotter, I could go for a walk or run now! I really wanted to run, and my legs felt good, so I took off. I did 3 miles and really enjoyed it. It was a good distance and I’m thinking my runs will be staying between 3-4 these days.
We made our way to my parents around lunch time to get the boat cleaned and waxed before putting it in the water. It got up to 88 on Saturday! We had a great afternoon on the boat. My mom went skiing, Aaron went surfing, and I just went to the bathroom 18 times
Saturday night was spent making cinnamon rolls, grocery shopping, and some Wal Mart shopping before parking it on the couch and in bed early. The sun wears me out!
Sunday was another early one. We were up to go down to Oakland (where the University of Pittsburgh is) for the Race for the Cure. I did a big recap two years ago of it, and it was the same, if not larger. I scored lots of free samples, including some cinnamon bread! Mmm. We did the 5k, but including the walk to the park, to the starting line, the race, and back to the car, it was about 5 miles. The sun was already out and it was in the 70s, making me hot! It was a wonderful start to the morning.
We continued with the tradition and went to a brunch at my mom’s house this year. There were three egg casseroles, French Toast casserole, fruit and dip, cinnamon rolls, and hamburgers and hot dogs! So much food, and it basically all got eaten. We headed over to Aaron’s house to see his mom after before parking it on the couch.
So, my weekend wasn’t all fantastic. I woke up Saturday with a bit of a sore throat and cold, but nothing major. Saturday night it got worse, I was up so much during the night, and didn’t sleep well. We stopped for Walmart on the way to the race to get medicine I’m allowed, and it seems to help a little bit, but not totally. By the afternoon, the heat had worn me out, my head was pounding, and I an annoying cough. I’ll totally be fine so I’m not worried, but it did wipe me out yesterday afternoon. Aaron took over dinner, willing to make anything I wanted, but all I wanted was a sandwich and chips, which was delicious!
