You guys, I’m in a bit of a rut. A food rut, that is. I’ve been eating just about the same things again and again, and I’m getting a bit sick of it.
I love oatmeal, but I have a rough time switching it up. I love having the oatmeal ready to go in the morning (prepped overnight) and topped with Cookie Butter. Honestly, I think it has been my breakfast the past few months, with maybe eggs thrown in once or twice.
Lunch is my biggest problem. I just don’t know what to eat that will hold me over. Keep in mind I am cheap and always pack my lunches. Somedays I will have leftovers, but if I know a meal with make enough for 2 dinners, I will use it for 2 dinners instead of lunches. I pair my lunch with a fruit and veggie. Most days, it is an apple, and celery and carrots cut up, or maybe a green pepper. I have not been able to get into the Greek Yogurt phase lately. One bad one, and man that smell when you open it gets ya! I just feel like I need more for lunch, and something to replace the sandwich I eat.
I would be lying if I said I get a lot of recipe inspiration from blogs. Truth is, I’m really picky, and a lot of the ingredients just throw me for a loop. I look at all the recipes, but sometimes toss them aside because I just don’t like some things.
Confession.. I don’t like peanut butter.
Confession… I don’t like almond butter
Confession… I’m not a die hard veggie lover. It takes everything in me to eat them
Confession… I like carbs
Confession… Salads don’t keep me full for very long, and I don’t enjoy them.
Confession… I don’t like trying new recipes with ingredients I can’t pronounce.
Confession… a lot of food is too expensive to try and not like.
Dinners are pretty easy. I meal plan those, and do a pretty good job of following them! It helps me to know my grocery list, and stay on a budget. I try to pair dinner with a side of a veggie, also.
I think my diet is lacking more protein, and I feel like I can tell the effects of it. I really could use some help, though, with coming up with new lunches, or breakfast ideas, mostly lunches.
So, my friends, what is a typical lunch for you? What do you pair with your lunch? Fruits? Veggies? Carbs? Pretzelssss….
Feel free to link up any recipe you think I might enjoy! I would be happy to give them a shot!
