From start to finish, this weekend was truly wonderful. It was full, but not too full where we didn’t enjoy it.
After visiting my cousin and her precious baby,
I came home and took a nap. It felt great knowing I didn’t have to wake up for any concrete plans, and having this little bugger sleeping on me was even better.
I made a delicious salad for dinner! In the mix was romaine and spinach, sweet potato chips, black beans, salsa, plain Greek yogurt, and some cheddar cheese. Mmm!
I woke up early to cook some cinnamon rolls and a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel for Aaron and I. It was early, but that’s because we hit up some garage sales! This was the first weekend all summer where I could actually go. I had no idea Aaron would even want to come! We managed to find a lot of tools for Aaron that he wanted (all for less than what one hammer he bought would cost in the store!), and plenty of little things for me. Let’s see if I actually do what I say I will with them.
(That’s a wheelbarrow taking up most of the room!)
I had a bit of time when we got home, and thought about going for my 7 mile run I had planned. However, I just wasn’t feeling it, so I worked on other things and then we took a break for lunch.
After discussing food trucks last week, I was determined to find some! Luckily, a quick Google search led me to Tanger Outlets in Washington. They had some type of kids day, complete with 10 food trucks! I knew when I read that we had to go. Luckily, Aaron loves food and all kinds, so we took a trip down. I couldn’t decide what I wanted, but the Bacon Cheddar Ranch burger with BRGR fries sounded delicious from BRGR. I was right; it was so good! Aaron went with some crazy grilled cheese from Oh. My. Grill, and he was also very happy.
After some other work, I mustered up the strength to get my run in. It was hard, but I made it on the treadmill! I just wasn’t feeling driving anywhere to get a good run in, and knew I could watch this movie (fun fact: I got it for $1 at the garage sale that morning!)
Mr. Benson and I were both wiped out after that so we hung out all night.
Seriously, his head was just hanging there. Total goofball.
I taught Insanity to a few new people today. It was as much of a blast as doing an insane workout soon after running 7 miles can be! My legs were heavy, so I’ll definitely stick to getting my runs in on Saturday mornings, not Saturday night!
I spent the rest of the day gearing up for our cookout! We had both of our families (immediate only) over for dinner before everyone went back to school. I love having the deck so we can do this and entertain. What should have been a rainy day was actually beautiful out!
We had burgers and dogs, seasoned French fries, baked beans, pasta salad, fruit tray, and potato salad. It was all so delicious, and even better that I didn’t have to make it all!
I am truly blessed to be surrounded by family and all God has provided us with!
Tell me what you did this weekend!
Would you have gotten the burger or grilled cheese from food trucks?
There were more options, but those were the two trucks we ended up with.
