Hey hey how are you all? This weekend was just what I needed. I spent a lot of time relaxing, which was much needed! Here’s a bit of what went on.
After work on Friday, I headed to Bath and Body Works where they were having their 3 wick candles on sale for $8! I had a coupon for a free signature item, and a lady in line gave me $15 off, so my 6 candles plus large lotion cost $35. #Score
I made my way to Kohls to do some shopping for me, ha. I wanted to find a dress to wear for Christmas Eve, and had Kohls cash, 30% off and a reward coupon. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but did find two other dresses.
Once I came home, Aaron and I left to head to our friend’s Alison and Mike’s house for their Christmas party! It was so much fun. Alison had plenty of food, and there were many treats to enjoy throughout the night.
At one point, the boys went downstairs, and the ladies all caught up and chatted. We had an Ornament exchange too. We gifted an ornament that lit up, and we received a chubby clay Penguin! Totally adorable.
We even played Heads Up, which is hilarious if you have never played it.
After a late night Friday, I was hoping to sleep in. Such was not the case when I woke up with my throat killing me. I know I’ve talked about it, but my throat has been bothering me for almost 3 weeks. I don’t really have a cold or anything, and since I use my voice all day at school and at night teaching class, I just let it go thinking that it was overuse. When I woke up with it hurting that bad, I made an appointment at Walgreens (Dr wasn’t open on Saturday) for 9. She didn’t even test me for Strep because the treatment was the same (nice of her to save me some $$) so I’m on a prescription. I don’t even know what it’s like without a sore throat at this point! It seems to be helping, though!
I finished up some Christmas shopping, headed to grocery shop, and then crashed. My couple weeks of being so busy caught up, and I felt terrible. Aaron and I both napped for over an hour in the afternoon, which was much needed.
Around 5, we headed out to Party #1! My aunt goes all out for Christmas. Her house is beautiful; she has a real charm for decorating. This year she wanted everyone to see what it looks like at Christmas, so she had an Open House. She even had two girls walking around serving the food to people! Honestly, I wish we could have stayed the night because it was so fun!
After about an hour, we headed out to our next party- a Classy Christmas Dinner party, as the invite said. We dressed up, and each person brought a side dish to the ham dinner Andy made. Andy roomed with my brother in college, and became closer friends with Aaron through the years and works in the same department as Aaron. We’re all super close, so it was a lot of fun!
Of course, we couldn’t stay there for too long. Our friend Bri graduated on Saturday from nursing school! We were so proud of her, and she had planned a night of celebrating with Maragaritas for Saturday about 3 months ago! ha We finished off the night at Mad Mex congratulating the graduate!
We had another late night, which I am just not used to anymore. The alarm was rough when it went off Sunday morning for church. It took everything in me not to fall asleep!
Sunday was really spent catching up on life, food prepping, and being able to just chill out. Aaron felt like he was getting sick, and I still wasn’t feeling my best. You don’t have to tell me twice to hang out on the couch looking at my Christmas tree I even managed to get all of our Christmas presents wrapped! I’m ready for this last week of school. Can’t believe we have 16 days off! Five days and counting…
Here’s my meal plan for this week!
