On Sunday, I made Aaron head to the park with me. I was feeling a bit lazy and wanted to get in a short run. I thought it would be perfect to have Aaron join me and then head to Rita’s Italian Ice after! It was a really warm day, and nothing quite tastes better than Rita’s! I proposed my idea to Aaron, and he accepted. Aaron doesn’t like to work out, much less run. How I was able to persuade him, I still have no idea!
Being that I could only convince him of a 2 mile run, to the circle and back, I decided to spice up this run. I ran with him just for the company, while brainstorming ideas! When we reached the circle, I told him we needed to do alternating lunges. After a bit of complaining, he followed! Then, I told him 10 push ups on the bench. I had to do them first, and he caught his breath and tried to show me a real push up. Nice try… I am good at push ups, man. It was back to alternating lunges, and then squats. Clearly, he was ready to kill me since we were “going for an easy 2 mile run.” I thought it was easy!
On my way back to the car, Aaron wouldn’t say a word to me! Haha I have no idea if he was really mad at me or what, but he just kept running and ignored me when I talked. It was ok, I know he wasn’t really mad. Back at the car, he told me he wasn’t doing “Heather’s circuit training” again. Well, alright then! We’ll see in 2 months what he does
I decided, on my run, that this was actually a great workout! Not only did the 2 miles fly by, but it was fun incorporating other moves in it! This run was the idea behind THIS week’s, Trainer Tuesday.
I made it a 4 mile run, but feel free to scale it down and just do more exercises in between the miles, or scale it up and repeat some!
Here are some links for some of the workouts!
Switch Kicks (Feel free to not jump and just stand and do them!)
