It’s no secret that I’ve been under some stress lately, as I’m sure most of us are this time of year. Thankfully, I had my eyes on one day that I knew would help to relieve it all.
My aunt Marsie takes my other two girl cousins, and myself, on a spa day every year. We head to Blue Moon Salon and Day Spa in South Park and are treated to a massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure. I mean, what’s better than a spa day? It was absolutely amazing and from the second I stepped into the massage room, I knew my stress would be released.
The lady was wonderful! I told her I lifted, taught classes, and ran, so she worked through many kinks in my shoulders, arms, back, and finished with my legs. The hour went by way too fast, and reminded me I should get a massage more often!
Next up was a facial. It is one of the most relaxing treatments. I loved having my skin opened up from the warm mist of air and really cleaned. The hot towels, mask, and moisturizing were all phenomenal.
I finished the day with a manicure and pedicure. The lady we had must have been knew, and this was the only area I wasn’t too excited about. I just didn’t really enjoy this part, and my nails are already chipping. But, I was still so thankful to be there and have this day with my aunt.
We finished around 2:15 and headed out to find some lunch as we were starving. We had a few failed attempts, but finally made our way to Max and Erma’s. I think this is one of my favorite restaurants!
We started with some chips, salsa, and guacamole.
It was very good! The chips were warm and salty- just like I like them.
For my meal, I ordered the cheeseburger combo which came with Tortilla Soup, a burger with unlimited seasoned fries, and a cookie. Mmm!!
We made our way to Hobby Lobby since it just opened, and then to the Outlets. Unfortunately, I had to leave early from our day because we had more plans to get to: an Ugly Sweater party! There was a lot of delicious food, and we had great conversations! My favorite aspect, though, was this.
A hot chocolate bar! I loved this idea. It was so fun to make our own whenever we wanted it.
The night flew by, and we ended up coming home quite late. Sunday called for church, followed by a long nap. It was glorious! After hearing what most of you do on Sundays, I took one from the book and lounged around all day. I loved not having plans and just doing whatever I wanted.
I should also note we did celebrate Matt’s birthday on Friday night at my parents. My mom made Loaded Buffalo Chicken Casserole and we had broccoli on the side.
I ended the night on the couch falling asleep by 9:30 while Aaron was at his hockey game. Exhaustion hit hard!
