I swear it was just Friday. How is it Sunday already?!
On Thursday night, I attended the Baccalaureate for Aaron’s brother, Aric, and my cousin, Bridget. I have become pretty close to a lot of Bridget’s friends over the years (she lives right up the street from me!) so I also wanted to see them graduate! It was really a great night. It was short, but you could feel God’s presence, which is all that was important. Aric planned it all, and he did a great job!
1. Bridget and her best friend. 2. A lot of Bridget’s friends. 3 Aric giving a speech. 4. The girls and myself. 5. Aaron and I with one gratuate. 6. Aaron and I with two graduates. 7. Aric getting his gift. 8. Bridget and I not wanting to take a normal picture. This is what we ended up with. 9. My handsome fiance.
Shortly after I got home from school on Friday, I headed up to Bridget’s house to start my photography taking. She requested I be her personal photographer, and since I love her and her friends, I obviously said yes! They got a ton of pictures, and they all turned out great, but here are a few!
Yes, I know there are two of the same pictures. PicMonkey was not letting me upload and other ones and I couldn’t have a blank space! Ugh, Technology!
After finishing pictures, I went to the high school and went in to claim a spot and sit! I knew what side I needed to sit on, and Aaron’s mom was actually waiting in like for 40 minutes for the doors to open so she could save an entire row. I ended up sitting a little away from them so I could take pictures from up a little higher and be able to see everyone! Bridget introduced the Salutatorian, so she spoke on stage, and then
Aric was the valedictorian. His speech was awesome. I was over practicing it with him and tweaking some things Thursday night and then Friday, too. He brought humor to the speech, and made it personal. It truly was a great speech about the future (his topic) in my opinion! What made it even better was that I got a shout out. I was making fun of him for not including me in all of his thanking of his large family, and kind of thought he would. Well, he read that part at the graduation, and I wasn’t mentioned. I was a bit upset, but moved on. Then, towards the end he said, “As Heather Jarosh once stated, you have the rest of your life to figure out what to do with the rest of your life.” I felt like a celebrity! Haha No, really, though, I was honored to make his speech, and had absolutely no idea he included me! I mentioned that phrase the day before when we were talking about how people think they know what they want to be, but that might change. Anyway, it was a great night! I was so proud of everyone that graduated! There were 192 of them, and the graduation was over in 56 minutes! I swear that is like a record! Here are some pictures from the graduation!
1. Bridget and Aric beforehand. 2. Bridget making her speech. 3. Bridget getting her diploma. 4. My cousin Shawn being a goof. 5. Aric giving his speech. 6. Aric receiving her diploma. 7. The smartest boy this year and me
Being silly and being proud!
Saturday was a hot one! I headed out to some garage sales with my mom at a very early hour, and came home to take a nap. Around 9:30 I decided I was going to do my long run today because they are calling for rain tomorrow. So I packed my water on my belt, packed my Clif Shot Bloks, and headed out to run 7 miles. On the positive note, it wasn’t freezing, the sun was out, and it was a beautiful day. However, it was not smart to go out at that time to run 7 miles, especially with my stomach. I looked before I started and it was 72 degrees out, but the sun was on the entire path. By mile 3, I looked and it was 84 degrees. It was just a really hot run, and my body didn’t feel that great, so it seemed like more work. I ended up at my car at mile 4 before turning around to run the extra 3, and I really should’ve stopped. I was too stubborn, though, and took a few minute break and headed back out. Oh well, live and learn! It was nice getting the run done, but now I know I need to get out by 8 if the day is going to be hot!
Hot, sweaty mess!
The rest of my day was spent on the boat! Clearly the clouds rolled in the second I pulled into my driveway, while the sky was as clear as could be during my run! Ha They were originally calling for some storms in the afternoon, but we never ended up getting any! In fact, it was hot, and I got burnt, even though I put on sunscreen twice! Live and learn, right?!
I was so hot from laying out that I needed to get in the water, so I surfed. However, my legs weren’t having it after my run! Haha Totally fine, and it was still fun even though I kept the rope the entire time.
Last year we discovered a rope swing. Actually, the ones who made it found us in the water the one day and told us about it. We’ve done it multiple times, and Aaron had to do it again today. It really is quite impressive how they made it, and is fun, even though I always get scared at the top before I go. Aaron makes it seem so easy!
Wow, I just wrote a book! Sorry about that! Hope you all have a great Sunday. See you tomorrow for some more MIMM!
