My first 5K was nerve-wracking. I was debating all morning over what to wear because the weather had done a 180 overnight. I didn’t know what to eat or drink, or how much. I wasn’t sure when I needed to leave in order to get there in time. Once there, I jogged to the start line and then waited around, sweating just from being anxious over when it would start. Let’s face it. Races, from a 5K to an ultra marathon will make anyone nervous! The whole process leading up to it and having so much to prepare for the morning of will undoubtedly make you nervous! I’m very happy to tell you, you might be saved from it all!
Welcome Happy 5k! I saw this from Melissa and the name of it just grabbed my attention! I needed to know more. Anything that has the word happy in it has to be awesome!

Yes, that is glitter! How cool is this medal??
This is great for those just starting out running, or just hoping to complete a race because it’s been a while (LIKE ME!). It creates a goal , but without the pressure of a deadline as well as race day nerves! You can take your time, and not stress over the competition of it all. Keep it Happy!
Once you sign up, you also receive a Couch to 5K running plan, which helps anyone who wants to try out running and have this goal in mind!
I highly suggest everyone doing it. Twenty dollars for a race is super cheap, and I think it will be lots of fun for everyone involved! Let me know if you sign up! We can run it together!
Do you enjoy the pressures and anxiety that race day brings?
Does the stress-free environment of this race interest you?
