This weekend was great! Of course it was busy, but I feel like I’ll always say that now that it’s getting nice out. I mean, I do love the nice weather, so I like to stay out in it longer! Let’s recap for this marvelous Monday.
I. did. nothing. haha Now that we have dodgeball Wednesdays and life group (aka friend night) Thursdays, I am wiped out come Friday! I did a workout after school, and went grocery shopping. I actually really loved having the night to myself to just be lazy, but not need to be in bed at a certain time (though let’s be real, I was!) I managed to get my house all picked up and looking organized, and to bed at 10:15. Perfect night!
I started my day with a treadmill run. I was hoping for an outside run, but it was so foggy! Figures, but the treadmill was fine. I hurried on over to my mom’s right after to start the day with a pedicure! It was her gift from my dad for her birthday, and he let me join in!
We enjoyed our time and then I picked up my dad while my mom had the day to herself. It was Aaron’s and my turn to take care of my dad, which we didn’t mind. We went to some stores, did a little walking, and I got ready for the night.
Matt picked my dad up to go home, while I had game night with my aunts and cousins! This was the first time having it since we bought our house, though everyone has seen it. It was fun making food! On the menu (it’s after dinner and they all knew what I was having!)
Veggie Pizza Fruit Salad Chips, salsa, homemade guacamole Veggies and dip
Cheese, crackers, pepperoni Smoothies for them to try Angel Food Cake dessert
Overall, I thought it was a great balance of treats with healthy options. I eat fruits and veggies daily, but I know not everyone in my family does, so I liked having these munchies around! I typically make dips and different appetizers for these functions, as I love to eat them too, but showing there’s a way to enjoy healthy options while having a good time works for me!
After church and food prep, I met up with Caitlin! Did you all see she got engaged last weekend?! Her ring is gorgeous, and I was so excited we had a chance to catch up since it’s been months since the last time! We actually met at a trail along the river because it was beautiful outside!
Aaron and I had his family over for dinner last night, too. I kept the menu easy with something I knew they would eat: meatball subs and Japanese coleslaw. I’m sure everyone calls it something else, but it’s made with Raman noodles and is very good!
I finished the night with blog work. Lately, I’ve been trying to get ahead of my posts for the week. For the last month or so, I have spent a few hours on Sunday finishing up touches on the posts, and scheduling them so I don’t have to do it the night before. It really saves me so much time, especially when I’m busy after work. Of course, sometimes things come up and I change the posts or whatever, but for the most part, I try to get them done ahead of time.
That brings us to Monday morning! This is (hopefully) going to be a short week as we have Friday off for Easter. It should have been a longer break, but with all the snow days, it’s all we have!
