This week is the first week since I started blogging that I am not sharing a workout with you. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t mind, because I do, but my life got in the way. I hardly talked about it, but I had pain in my pinky toe when I was running a lot, and it was believed to be an ingrown toenail. After going to a podiatrist to just have it removed (easy thing…) it was found that it was actually my bone in my fourth toe putting pressure on it, causing the problems. He tried to “make it better” last Thursday, but it made it worse, leaving me to not really be able to walk without pain. Somehow I was able to run on Saturday, but I have been pretty minimal on the workout front- including not doing any new workout to share.
It’s pretty ridiculous, but I need surgery to remove part of my bone on my toe, and I’m getting it done ASAP. Last night I met with the Dr (literally called yesterday morning for an appt so clearly not ready for the news I would receive) where he informed me I would be in a boot for 10 days, and he isn’t sure when I will be able to workout/run again. So, basically none of this is how I expected it to go, and to be quite honest, I’m not thrilled about it, and have had a hard time dealing with it (read: calling Aaron and my parent’s in tears. Overdramatic much?). Anywayyy I know you all understand and I will be back next week with a new workout for you! For now… a survey which is better than reading my sob story (oops!).
I love survey’s, and when I see one floating around, I typically jump on board. It’s probably due to my nosiness that I want to learn more about everyone, but regardless, they are fun to do! I saw this one on Julie’s blog under “Posts you may like” and decided to complete it!
25 Questions: Holiday Style
Eggnog or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate all the way. It’s one of my favorites year round.
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa used to cover them with a blanket when I was younger, but recently he has been wrapping them. We’ll see what he does this year!
Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Aaron and I love colored lights, so everything is full of those. Our house has LED lights outside, and we have regular ones around our house inside and on the tree.
Do you hang mistletoe?
No. I’ve actually never been anywhere that has mistletoe. Ha
When do you hang your decorations up?
Usually Black Friday, but this year it was 2 weeks before. We only got our Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving, though!
What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Appetizers, ha. I don’t really like the dinner for Christmas, either. It’s turkey (again) just like Thanksgiving, so I stick to all the dips and amazing appetizers. Nachos and Cheese, and Buffalo Chicken Dip are just a few of my favorites!
Favorite holiday memory as a child?
I always loved going over my Grandmas for brunch after opening our gifts. My uncle was there with his three daughters, who we got to spend time with (they lived far away) and watch them open presents. It was always a treat to see everyone on that side as we don’t see them on Christmas.
What is on your Christmas wish list?
About a million running items. Belts, headbands, jackets, long sleeves, etc. I think I have one or two normal people things on my list, too, but can’t even think of them. I know 12 lb weights made it on my list haha
Do you open a gifts on Christmas Eve?
I never used to, besides a DVD from my Dad that we would watch while eating dinner. However, starting last year, we celebrated Christmas with Aaron’s family, so we did open our Grab Bag gift on Christmas eve!
How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Ornaments with meaning, along with different Christmas balls. We used to have tinsel, but with Benson, we haven’t put it up.
Snow? Love it or dread it?
Real tree or fake tree?
I have both, haha. I like the look and smell of the real ones, though!

I used to get baby dolls that were lifelike when I was younger, and those were always my favorite.
What’s the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Spending time with all the people I love the most.
What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Is it any shocker that it’s cookies?
What is your favorite tradition?
It used to be waking up super early and opening presents before going downstairs! Now, I’m not sure what my favorite will be
What tops your tree?
Stars on both.
Do you prefer giving or receiving?
Giving. I’ve spent more money than I even want to know on Christmas, but it’s honestly my favorite thing to give to other people. I love finding things I know other’s would like.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Mariah Carey All I Want for Christmas
Candy canes, yuck or yum?

Well, I love Hallmark and Lifetime movies, haha. I also really enjoy The Santa Clause movies!

Cookies and Milk
Do you have a Christmas morning tradition?
We’d wait until my parent’s woke us up, open the gifts from Santa, then from our parent’s and each other. We used to go to my grandmas after for breakfast and then come back home for my mom’s family to come over.
I have a feeling this year will be quite different, but I can’t wait. So far our plans are to open our gifts, eat breakfast, stop at my parent’s for gifts, head to Aaron’s family to see them, then back to my parent’s for our big celebration.
Do you prefer to shop on-line or at the mall?
Both. I’ve done way more online shopping this year than ever, but nothing beats going to stores for me.
Christmas letter or Christmas card?
Aw I’d love a letter for Christmas! I am excited to start getting Christmas cards this year! We have received one so far. But they could all be like me and not even had them made yet
