How about we start recapping some honeymoon details, shall we? Honestly, we haven’t even gotten through all the pictures yet! If you didn’t know, Aaron and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise to Labadee, Haiti, Falmouth, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico. We loved the cruise and had a blast on it.
Since today is Tuesday, and I usually do Trainer Tuesday, I figured I would start with the fitness that happened while on the ship!
It’s easy- it didn’t happen! Ha Kidding, kind of. Aaron and I walked all over, all day long. While at the Ports, we walked and walked. Our cruise ship was the Allure of the Seas, which is one of the newest ships out there. There are 17 decks on the ship, and when we booked it, we picked a room in the middle of the ship, and on the middle-ish deck, deck 10. The majority of things were on decks 5, 6, 8, 15, 16,17. How’d we get there? We took the stairs! Let me tell you, walking 5 flights of stairs is no joke! Doing it while carrying a bag full of things? Even harder, but I loved every minute of it. I’m all about getting extra exercise whenever possible!
It was a huge ship
On the first day, we walked all over the ship, and we headed to the fitness center. I couldn’t wait to see what it looked like and if it was small, or big. It was huge, and full! So many people were in there, all the time. They also had bootcamp classes you could take throughout the week. However, you had to sign up for all of them, and they cost $120 to take 4 classes. Sorry, but I don’t have that kind of money to spend on 4 classes.
I had high hopes of heading to the gym everyday, but I’m not going to really try to hide it; I just didn’t do it. I spent the mornings laying in bed waking up to the sunrise. I spent the mornings heading to buffet breakfasts with my new husband. I spent my mornings relaxing on our balcony. I spent the morning exploring, instead. Do I wish I went to the gym to work out? No. I definitely felt the lack of exercise by the end of the week, and was more than eager to get out for a run when we got home, but I took a vacation and just enjoyed my honeymoon.
You know what they did have on the ship? A jogging track around the outside of the ship. On Monday, Aaron and I were talking about what we should do around 5:30 (our dinner wasn’t until 8:30), because we were sick of being in the sun. I mentioned go for a run (to my husband who doesn’t run.) Somehow, he agreed?! So, yes, I did just say I didn’t workout, but I lied. I took my time and jogged it out with Aaron. We enjoyed spending the time together doing something new, and who doesn’t love the view of the ocean?!
The track was awesome. It was 2.4 laps to make 1 mile, and we did 2 miles on Monday. The signs around the ship were great.. and so true. I tried to capture some of them while I was running just for laughs.
On Thursday, Aaron had just about had it with the sun. He tans very easily, and was just tired of getting tan (even with SPF 50!), so I asked him what he wanted to do. Turns out, he wanted to go for another run! Who is this man! This time, he wanted to go for a 5k. So, we accomplished it. We even had a group of people cheering us on every lap. It was hysterical and I loved it!
Clearly I was all about making dessert guilt free Just kidding! I took it all with no guilt involved
So there you have it. I never made it to the fitness center, but I did get exercise in in other ways and I am a-ok with how things worked out! Stay tuned for more recaps coming soon!
Now, for some
This week, I thought I would share some of my past workouts that I love and use all the time. Some of these workouts were from when I just started my blog, so maybe you never saw them! I do have a fitness tab at the top, but this will give you an idea of what some are!
Hope you enjoyed the first recap, and a look back at workouts!
