I mentioned that Aaron and I had off on Friday. Remember when I had visions for our back porch? It was a hideous brown color that I started sanding off so we could paint it white. I thought this would be an easy project, until we started, and realized every piece of wood we started to work on was rotted. What began as a nice back porch with visions of white ended like this.
… and now we need to figure out what to do with it. We are thinking of extending it so it is a large square, but still putting up the screen. I heard from just about everyone to leave it alone and it looks nice like that, but the screen was amazing. We ate dinner out there without worrying about bugs attacking us, and no bugs attacked at night when we sat out there. I am hoping it turns out great! Our goal this week is to determine costs and ideas! If you have any, let me know!
We celebrated with Ritas.
I started the day with breakfast with my dad at Panera. I dropped him off to meet with some friends and I headed to the park for a 7 mile run. Lo and behold, I convinced my mom to join me for the run! I ran about 2 miles then she joined me for 4ish and I finished on my own. It was the best run in such a long time. Mid 50s which was perfect, and a solid time of catching up with my mom. She was worried she ran too slow for me, but I didn’t care one bit. My legs welcomed the slower pace, and I welcomed the time flying by while we chatted away!
We actually celebrated Easter with Aaron’s family on Saturday, which was where our afternoon was spent. It was really nice to catch up with all of them and not need to run off to my side of the family.
After church, we hung out together as a little family, and then went over to my Aunt’s to celebrate with my mom’s side. We welcomed the slower pace, and enjoyed a holiday that wasn’t go-go-go. Food was great, family was amazing.
