You didn’t think I could go through National Running Day and not post about it, did you?! This is a day that runners from coast to coast reaffirm the reasons they run, and new runners can start! Sounds like a pretty fantastic holiday if you ask me! They also are asking the reasons YOU run. It took me a little bit to really think of it, but I’m confident in my reasoning.
This goes beyond the typical meaning. Yes, I run because it makes me feel ridiculously amazing after, but that’s not all. I feel excited thinking about my next run. I feel stress free when I am running. I feel like I am a new person after a run. I feel for all those who can’t run when they want. I feel for all those who are dealing with pain, or troubles. I feel for hard times, and for happy times. I feel for the day ahead of me, or the day behind me. I feel for my life, and for how great I have it. I feel for all those who don’t have it that well.
If you couldn’t tell, I do a lot of thinking of my runs. I love getting out there and just run whatever I want and for whatever I want. So yes, I run because it makes me feel great when I finish, but I feel a lot more than just that!
Why do you run?
