I just realized today is Aaron and My 10 year dating anniversary! Crazy how fast time flies and that we’ve been together all these years. Who would’ve imagined I would have married my first boyfriend! Happy Anniversary, Babe!
As most of you know, I’m not a fan of turkey, or really any of the food you see at Thanksgiving. I thought it’d be fun to share what I actually did eat on Thanksgiving last week.
instead of turkey, I’d rather eat … eggs.
Obviously I chose a breakfast I love eating and knew would be a good start to the day. I have been out of American Cheese (oh, the horror!) for a while and until it goes on sale, I’ve switched things up. I had 2 eggs with some mozzarella cheese and salsa mixed in. Bacon (courtesy of husband) was delicious, and a side of bread with apple butter (not a fan of toast.. ridiculous, I know).
instead of turkey, I’d rather eat … a salad.
We were running late for our first get together, so I threw some salad together and called it a day. It was actually really good! I haven’t had salad in a while for some reason, but it hit the spot.
Instead of turkey, I’d rather eat … guacamole and a cheese ball ! Mmm. More appetizers for me!
Dinner #1: 3:30
Instead of turkey, I’d rather eat … anything? I tried some other things. I ate just a bite of the mashed potatoes (just enough to try, haha), a few bites of sweet potatoes with brown sugar on them, and some broccoli casserole.
We headed out shortly after finishing that meal to my aunts. Luckily, their turkey was running behind on schedule, so we didn’t eat until about 5:45, perfect for our bellies to get hungry again!
Instead of turkey, I’d rather eat … more broccoli. Lol I tried the turkey again, had some yams but there were pecans so I left that behind, some more broccoli casserole, and some red skin potatoes with garlic, which were really good and a new addition this year! Oh, and corn. I love corn.
Instead of turkey, I’d rather eat …you know I’d rather have cookies! My mom made chocolate chip cookies since she knew I didn’t like pie and that way I could have a dessert too You guys.. I think I had like 8 cookies. We ended the night sitting around the table with my cousins chatting away, and they were just in front of me! I couldn’t help it, though I did try. I’ve kept my hands off cookies since then, though, ha.
So there you have it! This year was better than past years. I totally make it work, and never make a big deal out of not liking the food! I do try (most of) it. It’s totally weird to not like stuffing, potatoes, turkey, and such, but I deal with it. Being picky is not something I would ever choose for someone, and you better believe I will do everything I can to never have picky kids, haha.
