I’m sure you’ve all heard this saying, right? It takes a village to raise a kid. Oh how true it is! But besides that, I think it takes a village to be a mom, as well.
This is my second “Mother’s Day” and last year I felt like I was still getting in a groove. I loved my days, but had gone back to work part time, and was trying my best at the every day life. This year, while I feel in the groove with Annabelle, I’m getting ready to bring a little boy into the world and can only hope to raise him with the best in mind every day.
But I haven’t gotten here by myself. Sure, I probably would’ve figured it out, but being a mom is a freakin’ hard job. It’s hard to have to think through decisions and choose what is for the best. It’s hard to know what they want and what to try. So this mother’s day, I’m throwing it out to all my other momma friends. I’m throwing it out to all the ladies in my life that have been along for the ride. It’s the ones who I can look at and know they are the ones I want to imitate with raising my kids. They’re the ones I call when asking a question. They’re the ones who would drop everything to be here and watch my kiddo/s if something came up.
That’s the thing about being a mom. We’re all in this thing together. None of us know the best way to raise kids and we’re all just doing our best. So whether you are a mom now, hoping to be one soon, pregnant, or just thinking about the future, know you aren’t alone. Even if you think you are, you’re not. I’d always be happy to chat with you if you need it!
And to all the ladies in my life, thank you for helping me to be the best mom I can be to Annabelle. For all the inspiration, admiration, tips, and knowing you’re constantly there for me! I couldn’t do it without all of you.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you momma’s out there! I hope it’s a spectacular day!
