I’m sitting here drinking cinnamon tea looking at my Christmas decorations with snow falling down. I had no plans for putting up Christmas decorations at all until next week, if that, but I’m so glad things changed and most of the decorations are up.
This weekend started out with temps in the 70s on Friday, quickly falling to the 30s on Saturday and Sunday; cold enough for snow to fall.
Let’s back up.
Friday was nothing too special. Cleaned up the house from painting, and played around in the evening.
Saturday morning we woke up to nice temperatures. So nice, in fact, that we got outside before the temps started falling. I figured I’d pull the decorations out of the attic since it was warmer, and before I knew it, the whole house was full of boxes. I put away the fall decorations and separated where the other decorations went.
For some reason, A was super crabby and just not herself. I thought putting up the Christmas tree in her playroom would help. Sadly, she was less than enthused and still not herself. As she napped, temps fell and it was snowing/raining. That completely derailed our plans to go to Tanger Outlets since they are outside, and instead, we hit up Walmart for some decorating things before coming home and actually decorating the tree. Aaron worked on the cabinets for most of the day, and A was much more into the tree after her nap, thank goodness! She loved handing me the ornaments (and promptly taking them off the tree >sigh<). Once she woke up from her PM nap, the snow started really falling and she was in love! Honestly, the wander in her eye was the best to see.
We had dinner at my BIL and SIL house before heading to some extended family on Aaron’s side for the evening. Of course when I came home and A went to bed, I had to sit with the Christmas tree on. Something about it is just so relaxing <3
Sunday morning I awoke to snow actually on the ground, more falling, and started the day off relaxing with a cup of tea. A was up shortly after so we woke up daddy and had a great morning. Annabelle experienced snow and fell in love. She went in it last year but obviously has no idea. This year she was all about it!
We actually kept putting up decorations and had the house decorated during Annabelle’s nap! I took her after that to my great Aunt Betty’s house with my mom, Aunt Judy, and cousin Jenn with her daughter, Madison. It was really fun and Annabelle had a blast! A grocery store trip followed soon after where again, I’m reminded Sundays are not the time to go grocery shopping! I swear every week I say I’ll go Saturday and it’s Sunday evening before I get there, when they are out of quite a bit.
Aaron continued working on the cabinets and I worked on dinner, this post, watched the Steelers, and entertained A until it was her bedtime. Now I’m wrapping up the post and thinking ice cream and nail painting is happening ASAP!
