Happy Monday! I know I say this a lot, but I really can’t believe it’s Monday! This weekend was so much fun! I love linking up with the Diva to share those moments! Also praying she has her little boy soon
Saturday began bright and early! Too early for the late night I had the night before! We met up with our friends, and had 6 trucks heading down to tailgate for the Kenny Chesney concert! None of us actually went in to the concert, but had a blast tailgating.
It was a day full of lots of drinking, many snacks (which I didn’t eat too many of. I brought Quest bars to enjoy because I knew my stomach wouldn’t handle all the junk food so well!), and lots of good times with our friends! We had country music playing the entire day, of which I have needed a break from it since then! Haha I heard too many of the same songs over and over again!
We entered the parking lot around 8:30 and promptly set up shop! We had corn hole, beer pong, flip cup, etc. happening! Unfortunately, anyone who knows anything about tailgating knows about the porta potty usage! The lot we entered was the same as the one we went to last year. For some reason, people wait in lines until 10:00 when the lots open on the other side of the stadium, but this was literally right beside it and opened at 8. Why people didn’t just come in here is beyond me!
Anyway, last year there were at least 15 Porta Johns in our lot. This year? We had 3. We also were across the street from the Casino. Last year there were multiple rows of them behind the casino. This year? None. Well, I headed out to find one of my best friends who was tailgating in the same lot, and she was beside a guy with a Porta John in his truck! Turns out his dad owns the company, so he brought it along and said we could use it whenever we wanted! Better believe I took him up on that one It was also the nicest one I’ve ever been in! I’m talking a full sink, with paper towels, soap, trash can, and it flushed! Yep, best one ever. Saved me from waiting in lines many times!
By mid afternoon, my brother, Aaron, and I were dead. We had started early, and were feeling the effects. Did I mention it was 87 out with sun all day? We drank a lot of water, had lots of Gatorade, and ate some Quest bars to help us feel better. I pretty much called it quits for the day at that point, and we just hung out. We were trapped in the lot pretty good, so we knew we couldn’t get out until the concert really got going. It began at 4:30, but most people didn’t start heading in until 6. That is when we were able to maneuver our way out of the lot and head home! We were exhausted, and I was so glad I wasn’t going in to the concert! We also had a night ahead of us, which was a surprise!
Aaron and I had been searching for blinds for our two windows in the living room for the last week. Who knew they were so expensive! Just as Aaron was heading to Home Depot to buy them, I headed into Big Lots. Guess what I found! The same blinds that were $45 at Home Depot were $16 at Big Lots! Oh my gosh, I was the happiest person in the world! We tried to put them up Saturday night, but I needed my dad to cut them down a bit more. We kind of hung out on Saturday night, and then passed out early. It was much needed sleep!
I spent Sunday on the boat! We have had pretty crappy weather lately, but it seems to have made a turn for the better. It was in the high 80s all day, so my mom and I headed down around 11. I went out wakeboarding, and since Matt was there, he was able to tell me what I needed to change to jump higher. I felt amazing after it worked! I was so excited when I landed and knew it was higher than before. I also saw my family cheering for me in the boat! My mom and dad skiied, Matt wakeboarded for the first time since breaking his ankle last year, and Aaron surfed! I also headed out and skiied some more. It is so fun to me now because it is mindless. I was thinking about it while skiing, and it reminds me a lot of running. I do it because I love to do it, and it makes me feel great!
I finished off the day with some Frozen Yogurt with my parents, and some time catching up on blogs! I hope everyone else had an amazing weekend.
What did you do this weekend?
Have I convinced anyone to start shopping at Big Lots?
