Hi Friends! If you are reading from the US, I hope you had an extra day off yesterday. It was nice having Aaron home for the extra day!
Our weekend was so fun. I could probably write a recap on each day because of how much we packed in, but I’ll save you from that and share highlights!
Our original plans Friday night didn’t happen due to crabby kiddo that needed an early bedtime. Aaron mentioned he needed to burn some bushes and was going to have a fire, so we called up my BIL and SIL who brought their kiddos over for some S’mores. Aaron and I relaxed by the fire after everyone left/gone to bed and it was just perfect. The night was in the 60s and we listened to the local football game nearby. We knew exactly when our team scored from all the cheering
Saturday morning both kids were up early and we headed off to Conneaut Lake soon after! My mom’s family owns a cottage and the local beach has a Labor Day picnic so we went up for that. It was cold, with temps in the 60s and wind blowing, but we all still had fun! When it started raining around 6, we decided we’d just head home instead of waiting out the rain to leave during the kid’s bedtime. We got home around 8:15, Annabelle crashed hard, and Nolan went to sleep soon after.
Sunday morning Aaron headed to church while I stayed back. Annabelle seemed to have a cold and I didn’t want her getting others sick or getting worse. Her and Nolan watched me workout and both thought it was funny. We took a walk in the afternoon and my dad came over for dinner.
Annabelle kept turning around saying “Hi buddy” and holding his hand during our way! So sweet!
It was really nice having Aaron home yesterday morning too! He stayed back with the kids while I got in a workout, then we both tackled breakfast and playtime before he went out and cut the grass and did a ton of yard work. After the weekend being in the 60s and low 70s, it was in the 80s yesterday which felt like summer. We ended up going to my brother’s house yesterday afternoon for a cookout! They had so much food and it was all delicious.
It was a great long weekend! If only every weekend could be like that. Now we’re back into the 60s weather wise and I’m debating when to start decorating for fall!
