I always find it fun to see where I was a year ago and how much has changed. This ended up being longer than I thought, so if you stick with me, thanks! Grab some coffee and let’s recap.
We started off the month finding out we were pregnant with a baby boy! The good news was quickly forgotten when I received the scariest phone call in the middle of the night that my dad had a heart attack. After surgery, he recovered very quickly, and we are so grateful. I shared my nursery inspiration and what I hoped to get for baby 2, as well. Our kitchen was finally finished (I still owe you a recap of that, a year later, oops!) and I made a Command Center in our gallery wall, which I am still obsessed with. Whole Foods also opened up nearby (like half a mile) and I went there for the opening.
I shared this easy Toddler Valentine’s Day activity at the beginning of the month, and then took a trip to OU to visit my cousin. Benson got really sick for a couple days but thankfully got better just as fast. I shared why I made working out a priority during pregnancy, and I still think it’s extremely important to move. Annabelle turned 15 months, which seems like so long ago. Aaron and I volunteered with Night to Shine at our church, which is always a fun event for kids with disabilities. The month rounded out with a trip to the ER for Annabelle, and sharing ways to relax because after an ER visit, you definitely need to relax. Thoughts on having two under two were at the forefront of my mind, and I loved sharing with you all what I was most excited for and what I was scared for.
I got back into setting goals at the beginning of the month! Aaron and I took a trip to Seven Springs with friends, as well. If you’re looking ahead, I shared a toddler St. Patrick’s Day craft, too. I was still working out a lot, so I shared some fitness tips for working out while pregnant. This also fit into why my workout schedule isn’t yours and that’s okay! We went to a birthday party, we had friends come stay with us and visit the Science Center, and we finished Annabelle’s big girl room.
I continued setting goals and we celebrated Easter at the beginning of the month. I shared some dessert ideas for Easter, as well, if you’re thinking ahead already. All three of us survived the flu, with Annabelle having it the easiest. I’m hoping to not repeat that! I went to a bachelorette party at the peddle tavern and the Pirate Game, which was a blast, even though it was cold. Annabelle also turned 18 months old! Time is flying.
May brought some crazy nesting urges. I made crockpot meals and cleaned our house top to bottom. We went to a Kentucky Derby party, and it was so fun. I shared my list of ideas for Mother’s Day presents from Amazon under $20. We also went to the Air Show that came ! There was lots of walking but it was a great time and I hope it comes this year, too. On top of all that, Aaron and I celebrated birthdays, I shared a tour of Baby Brown 2’s nursery, I packed my hospital bag with this amazing robe, and we headed to the hospital! Our greatest joy of the year was when Nolan was born, and I went to a wedding a few days later before celebrating Memorial Day as a family of four!
June brought a lot of changed. We had newborn pictures taken, we survived the first week at home, went strawberry picking, and even went on the boat! I shared the behind the scenes life of two kids, and how it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. We even made it out for a date!
Oh July. It was a crazy but fun filled month. We started the month staying at my parent’s because Aaron was away for my brother’s bachelor party. We celebrated my great aunt’s 81st birthday, too. I had a girl’s day, too, with just Annabelle. We went on vacation, too, to Deep Creek! Nolan turned 2 months old and we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. Our month rounded out with a trip to the Children’s museum with both kids.
We took a trip to Idlewild! I signed up for a free trial at Burn Boot Camp, and while I loved it, I haven’t found a way to fit it in financially. Aaron and I went on our second date since having Nolan, and it went much better than the first. I went to my friend’s bridal shower, and did the Bubble Run with Annabelle before heading to my SIL shower and bachelorette party! Sadly, I also headed back to work at the end of the month.
We took a trip to Conneaut Lake for Labor Day, where it was apparently winter for a few days. So unbelievably cold! I shared baby favorites, we rounded up our boating year, had a campfire with S’mores I signed up for a half marathon in May, and ggot in an accident. Aaron and I had a date and went to Kennywood by ourselves, I shared a much needed cleaning schedule, and attended my friend’s bachelorette party!
We celebrated some birthdays, went apple picking and to a pumpkin patch. I shared all about our Early Intervention experience with Nolan, too. The biggest moments were Annabelle’s birthday where she turned 2! and celebrating Matt and Shelby’s wedding! We survived a few weeks without Aaron being home, and made the most of all the Halloween activities.
I shared a workout with the slam ball and plyo box that I love doing! We went to Emily’s son’s birthday party, too, with tons of kids! Nolan was dedicated at church, finally. We celebrated Thanksgiving, and I shared a fun Turkey Day inspired workout. We also went to the zoo and Nolan turned 6 months! I shared an important post (to me) on how I helped the older sibling adjust to a new sibling.
We made cookies, decorated Gingerbread houses, saw Santa, had breakfast with Santa, had a girls day, went to a couple Christmas parties! I talked about how I plan to train for a half in the winter, too. Nolan was a rockstar and cooperated for some Christmas photos with lights. I shared some real feelings on feeling like I fail as a stay at home mom sometimes, too. To wrap it up, we celebrated Christmas numerous times, and the end of 2017.
