If you follow me on Instagram, or Twitter, you probably know I am obsessed with nail polish, and having my nails painted. I hate when they chip, and paint them every few days. I used to always make designs on them, and then somehow got away from it and just stuck to a plain color. When Melissa opened up her Manicure Monday’s to everyone, I took it as a challenge to start painting my nails with some designs and to have fun with them again! I can’t say I will always paint them with a design, but I’m going to try when I have the time!
So here goes!
I started with freshly groomed nails. I removed the polish and then filed them to the length I wanted.
I painted them a deep purple. I am trying to break out of the darn nail polish and bring in spring colors, but the gloomy weather is not allowing this! This purple fit the bill, though
I then added a side sweep of silver polish. (I just do this free-handedly).
Next up, I added a glitter streak between the purple and silver.
I put the finishing clear coat and they were done! I really like them and hope they last for a while!
These are the nail polishes I used! I actually bought the skinny nail polish bottles are our local Dollar Tree! Because I really do enjoy painting my nails, and end up buying a nail polish everytime I go to Walmart, I rarely buy expensive brands. I think the others work just as well, and allows me to buy more for my budget!
There are a few other products that I use when I paint my nails.
I LOVE this stuff! It is called “stickey” and I first saw it when I was getting a manicure at a salon. It keeps the nail polish on for a while! Much better than regular base coats. I buy it on Amazon and get it for a good price!
I also use this spray at the end of the entire process! It really helps dry my nails and prevent smudging
There you have it! Hope you learned something new
