I’m really enjoying these meal plans. It makes dinner a breeze, because the last thing I want to do is think of some dinner as I’m hungry. Those are never healthy choices. It also keeps me from wasting food! Lunches are typically sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, and veggies, along with pretzels usually for me! Breakfasts are pretty boring-oatmeal. Sometimes I switch things up and go for cereal, but it’s just easy to prepare oats the night before and have them ready to go! With that being said, here are our meals for the week!
Monday: Brinner (breakfast for dinner) with roasted potatoes
Tuesday: Fiesta Chicken or Tacos with leftover meat (had to cook it yesterday)
Wednesday: Meatball Sandwiches with Garlic Bread
Thursday: Tortilla Soup with a veggie undetermined. Probably broccoli. (I had to freeze some soup last time I made it!)
Friday: Aaron is gone, so I’m on my own. Probably a makeshift pizza of some sort, or dinner at my parents.
Saturday: Chili Cook Off with people from Aaron’s work!
Sunday: Tortilla Soup with Green Beans
Fitness for the Week:
I feel like things get shifted around through the week, but I’m getting much better at being flexible with it. Here’s what my week looked like:
Monday: Lean Legs Circuit. Ok, so I didn’t realize this would be so hard! I had to drop to 15 of each exercise after the first circuit because I wasn’t going to have enough time before work.
Tuesday: Leave You Sore Abs, stretching, and 3 mile run
Wednesday: Cardio and Core Circuit. I love this circuit, though it does last about an hour and 20 minutes. I just feel so great after, and can really feel the burn. It’s one of my favorite to get my heart rate up on the treadmill, too.
Thursday: Full Body new workout (look for it this week!)
Friday: 9 Mile Run. After my running got shifted around all week, and I had off Friday, I decided to do my long run then. I really love getting it done on Friday’s if possible, but it’s usually not. Saturday’s are great to sleep in with Aaron instead of waking up to go running. I headed out and really wasn’t feeling like running, but knew I wanted to at least try. I’ve been fighting a pain outside of my right ankle, which I could feel at the beginning, but now I can’t even remember if it hurt at the end. I felt great through the whole run. My GPS didn’t work, again, even though I tried Nike+ GPS but apparently doesn’t work if you leave it to text, lol. Lucky for me, I knew where my 9 miles would end, so I just kept running. I finished really strong, in under 1 hr 20 minutes, and feel very confident for my race in a month! This is also the furthest I’ve run since my half 2 years ago!
Saturday: Arms and Abs Living Room Circuit – Loved this! Did it 3 times and my arms were burning by the end.
Sunday: Penguin 6.6K Race
I am also participating in Athena’s Fall Into Fitness Challenge for the month of October. She sends out a weekly schedule and it includes one exercise to do each day for the entire month. I have been incorporating them either into my workouts, or at some other point of the day. Though none have been new (so far!) I can definitely feel it, and I love having this extra challenge!
