Well let’s just say last week was a wash out with food and fitness. I mentioned I had a sore throat last weekend, and was hoping that was it, but not the case. I ended up getting sicker than I’ve been in months, probably years. And last week was not the week to be sick! (More on that tomorrow!). I’m hopeful this week will be better!
Sunday: Today is a crazy day. We are heading to my parents to work on some things for my dad and then headed to the in-laws to see the family and hopefully get some dinner. I hear it’s Pulled pork, tacos, and pasta salad.. mmm!
Monday: Chicken, veggies, rice.
Tuesday: Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla
Wednesday: Out to dinner with my family
Thursday: Leftovers in the house, or homemade pizza
Friday– Sunday: NEW YORK CITY!!! More on that later.
Fitness for the Week:
Sunday: That’s always a rest day for me.
Monday: Woke up feeling sick and knew I shouldn’t overdue it.
Tuesday: Horrible night sleep and got a lot worse, so forget the workout. I did walk for 30 minutes with Aaron just because it was 70 degrees.
Wednesday: I started feeling better, but not the best. Still nada
Thursday: Absolutely nothing. Stayed home from work, too. My exercise was walking into the kitchen for tea, ha.
Friday: Felt so much better Friday morning and managed a 3 mile run on the treadmill in the am!
Sunday: Maybe a circuit workout later or maybe a run. Our day is pretty packed, so might be zero. Let’s chalk this week up to a fail, alright?!
Miles Run so far in 2014- 168.08
I know a lot of people say you can workout when you’re sick, and if it’s above the neck you’re fine. I do believe you can, but I also believe in listening to yourself. I got sick right when we had nice weather, and all I wanted to do was get outside and get a run in. When I get sick, no matter what, it’s typically worse than an average person as my electrolytes get screwed up and my Colitis flares up. I also know that I don’t give myself rest days too often, and typically work out 6x a week. If the desire to work out is just not there and I can barely function throughout the day (not to mention I was with Kindergarteners Monday and Tuesday.. hello busy!), especially with basically the whole flu, then I let myself take a break. I know I didn’t eat enough to fuel any kind of workout and what I did eat my body needed to get better. This weekend definitely didn’t go as I would have liked, but it happens, and it’s time to move on and start a new week!
