Hi everyone! We’ve been having summerlike weather that I am trying to enjoy, besides being sick with no voice 🙁 . I know it won’t be long until we are freezing for many months and I am wishing for the summer weather to come back! Until then, here are some meals you can try out for the week.
Sunday: Loaded Buffalo Chicken Casserole
Monday: Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. I forgot how much I love this recipe, and since we have half the ingredients already left, we’re having it again!
Tuesday: Loaded Buffalo Chicken Casserole leftovers. This always makes so much and we always have leftovers and lunches for a few days!
Thursday: Life Group
And as far as training has gone…
Sunday: Taught my insanity class. It was a good one! I really wanted to get a 3 mile run in but I ran out of time.
Tuesday: 4 mile run. This week has cut down my mileage, which was great. I was supposed to sub an insanity class in the morning, but no one came to it (I mean, insanity that early in the morning doesn’t appeal to me, either, haha!). Anyway, since I was already awake and at the gym, I hurried up and got my 4 mile run done before heading into work. I went out for a 30 minute walk after work, too.
Wednesday: Interval Sculpt. I did a lot of Tabata intervals and then finished with other strength options. I wasn’t actually a fan of this workout as much as I thought. My class was definitely feeling it, and I loved seeing it in their faces, but I know some could have done a bit more to it.
Thursday: I had a 35 minute tempo run on the schedule. I was all ready for it at 5 am, but then I fell asleep after my alarm went off and woke up at 5:18. Those 18 minutes were too crucial and I didn’t have time before work. I went after work to the park to finish, but it was hotter than I thought! The sun was out and it was in the 80s. I just wish I would have taken water with me and then I would have been fine. I forgot about the heat after the past few weeks of cool running weather. It went pretty well. I warmed up for the first few minutes, then completed between 3-4 miles at tempo pace, and then cooled down for 5 minutes. I finished 4.18 miles in 35 miles.
Friday: rest day, and I was sick. I napped instead of a workout, and it was pretty amazing.
Saturday: Like I mentioned, the mileage was cut down this week, and I only had 5 miles to run. However, I got sick Thursday morning, and by Friday night I had lost my voice. I had no hopes of this run even happening, but I managed to get it in before my day began, even if it was slower than usual.
