Today marks the first day of school for many in my area. I only know of one school district that doesn’t go back today, but it’s school bus central everywhere. Being that Aaron and I moved in the middle of summer, I love seeing the school bus come up our road! Reminds me of childhood when everything was care free and not a worry was in sight!
As if the sound of the school bus wasn’t marvelous enough, I had more to share!
You guys, it’s been a pretty rough summer with my job. Today marks the last week of nanny-ing that I will be doing, which is pretty marvelous. I am ready to be done, and get back to subbing. Jobs don’t necessarily come up a lot during the first week (but you would be surprised how many people have called off already!), so I told her I could watch them this week, too. I don’t want to go into too much, but I can say I just want to move on!
Friday was spent loving on my kitty. Haha As if you didn’t imagine that one! Aaron and I made dinner, did some cleaning up outside, and then hung out in our room with Benson. He just wanted some more attention, and he can only be in our room. So, we rented Silver Linings Playbook on OnDemand, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Aaron didn’t like the ending (I won’t ruin it), but I totally and completely knew what was coming! Haha
He has a new favorite toy that he jumps on, attacks my computer (and phone if I pull it out… so weird!), and has a crazy obsession with his snacks! Hardly waits for us to even open them before he attacks!
Saturday morning was spent lounging around some more. Honestly, it felt amazing not to have to get up for anything. We had nothing planned right away, so we just relaxed! We also watched the show “Buying Alaska,” for the first time. There must’ve been a marathon on TLC as we watched (I think) 4 episodes! First of all, who knew those houses were so expensive?! I guess I thought they’d be less than prices around here. I also didn’t realize what a hot commodity indoor plumbing was in Alaska! I would be disgusted if I didn’t have a bathroom easily accessible!
My dad came over shortly after to pick me up for lunch! I’m awful, though, and forgot all pictures. We went to Red Robin and I had a cheeseburger with Red Robin Sauce. I couldn’t tell you the last time I had an actual burger, so it really hit the spot. I also devoured the steak fries that come with it. Fries will never be abandoned by me!
Aaron and I left Benson all afternoon and went on the boat. It was a beautiful day, and a few of our friends were able to join in. We just lounged around and relaxed with everyone! Nothing better than that, right?
After returning home, we spent the night watching the Steeler Game, and cooking/baking everything for yesterday’s fantasy football draft. It Is really such a big deal to them (I’ll never understand), so I was happy to supply food! We ended our night relaxing with Mr. Benny.
he really likes to blog, too. such a natural
I was awokened Sunday by a certain furball but I couldn’t complain at all. After a little play session at 6:30, he cuddled up on me and slept from 7:30-8. Then, it was go time again! Haha
While Aaron had people over to the house, I headed to the boat with my parents. I actually wakeboarded for the first time in over a month, and it felt amazing! I had some big jumps, and one huge one that I didn’t land. Bummer. Maybe next time
Fantasy Football drafts are actually super intense. Who knew!
The rest of the night was spent relaxing, and getting ready for another week! I made a delicious dinner for myself, haha. His friends were still over and they snacked all afternoon. I made stuffed Tilapia and broccoli! Mmm
Honestly, I know my weekend doesn’t seem like too much went on, but that is exactly what I needed. We have had really busy weekends lately, and the next few are really busy, too, so this was quite marvelous.
