You know what today means, right? It’s MIMM! Time to remember all the marvelous things that happened over the weekend! Thanks Katie for hosting it, as always!
I usually just touch on what was so marvelous about my weekend on Monday’s, but this Monday is going to be a full recap from my weekend! I was so busy, and never had the chance to tell you all what was going on!
As I’ve mentioned, last week encountered more late nights than probably ever happen. This made waking up extremely difficult. I changed my alarm a few times, but managed to get up and get an elliptical workout in in the morning. I knew I would be home around 3, so I could do the rest after. That I did, and it felt great! Be on the lookout for it tomorrow
After my workout, I decided to take the plunge and get my hair cut. A few months ago, I went to my usual hair cut place (Great Clips), just to get my bangs trimmed for the holidays. I told the lady I wanted side bangs that started around my eyebrow. What I got were short bangs in the middle of my forehead. I cried hysterically and never paid her, and pretty much yelled at her. I did go back for a hair cut at the end of December, but she was not to touch my bangs (definitely not the same lady, either!) and I really got maybe an inch off. My hair was getting way too long to maintain, many split ends, and my bangs had finally reached a point where they needed trimmed. So, I went for it! It all turned out great, I think, and I was very relieved after.
That night, I managed to print some more things for our Wedding, meaning I got to cross things off my to do list!, and worked on this project for my friend Jen. Her baby was born almost two weeks ago, and I knew I had to make one for her. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it, so just imagine that one in blues, greens, browns, and with the name Tanner
After a few many hours, I met up with my friends at a local restaurant for some drinks and appetizers! I haven’t seen them in multiple weeks, so it was really fun to catch up and just be goofy together. I managed to stay awake pretty late, too, which is always exciting!
As I slightly recapped yesterday, it was busy.
My morning started great with a 5.5 mile run on the treadmill. A workout is always the best way to start the day, in my opinion!
I showered, drank a protein shake, and set to work on a few things while waiting for my mom. First up, cookies.
I wanted to make cookies to take to Jen, and knew I would really only have time on Saturday, even though I wasn’t seeing her until Sunday. I also prepped the chicken to make chicken enchiladas for her, as well!
My mom still wasn’t home, so I set to work on finishing the sign for Tanner while waiting. When she came home, we headed out to JcPenney’s. When I was in Oregon, I walked through it and there were so many bright colors. I didn’t want to drag everything home on the flight, so I decided we could go to ours. Bad news, nothing came close to being colorful! I have to say, though, that they have a pretty great active section, and I tried on numerous things. In the end, though, I settled for some long sleeve shirts that were on clearance. I need to go through my workout clothes and see what I need, should get rid of, replace, etc. I chose to save my money until I do that so I don’t waste it on items not exactly needed!
After returning home, eating lunch, reading some blogs, I headed to Aaron’s house to see his family. I am pretty much a hermit during the week, and Aaron usually comes to me. Once I get home, I hate going out again. This means I really only see his family on the weekends. His brother had Roman again, so it was so fun to see him and just have a blast with the family! We played lots of football, hockey, and even took a walk with Roman.
He even got his first pair of ice skates from Uncle Adam! They are too adorable!
It was a tad chilly outside, but a beautiful day!
I quickly came home, changed, and headed off to my Aunts for game night! She had plenty of food, including a dip of hers that I need to ask for the recipe to share with you all! She said it was a Weight Watcher’s dip and only 1 point for 1/4 cup. I forgot to take any pictures, my bad. We had lots of time to catch up, I talked about my trip to Oregon because a few of my aunts and my mom are going to head out that way in the Fall, and played LCR. LCR is a game you play with either 4 quarters, or 4 dollar bills. You roll three dice, and do as it says. L means pass one left, R means pass one right, and C is for center. My aunt won one round, and I came thisclose to winning the next. I needed to land with a dot on the dice, but I had a C so I lost it! We ended up playing a third round, but I still didn’t win!
Game nights are always fun, and always end up being super late when I get home.
I set my alarm for 8:30 and slept until it went off, again! I can’t believe that’s twice in a row.
I started my morning reading the paper and checking the coupons, reading some blogs, and heading over to see Jen!
Jen already has a son, Landen, who is my favorite two year old! He is so much fun, and even though I don’t see him all the time, he knows who I am. Yesterday, I was greeted with a huge smile and him coming straight for me to pick him up. Unfortunately for him, I quickly gained a baby in my arms and couldn’t play with him too much. At one point, he came over and looked at me with sad eyes. I asked him if he wanted me to give Tanner to his mom and he could sit with me. He smiled and shook his head, so I got some Landen cuddles too
Tanner is the sweetest baby, and never cried for me! He was fast asleep in my arms for over an hour. I was in love! Jen and her husband, I believe, enjoyed the time where they didn’t have him in their arms and just got to relax. Her husband, Garrett, is a pilot for Delta, so he isn’t home too much. Luckily, he has off until the end of April! Jen has a lot on her plate with Landen, already, because he actually got diagnosed with Diabetes last summer. He was only 16 months, and will now have it for life. They have made due, but having two kids and no husband is a lot right now!
I was glad I could contribute Chicken Nuggets for Landen, and Chicken enchiladas, cookies, and rice for Jen and Garrett!
Aaron and I had three more houses to look at yesterday, which weren’t too exciting, unfortunately. I managed to come home, make a new cookie recipe, prep my chicken and rice lunches for the week, and do my taxes. By about 5:30, I was feeling quite tired, so I snuck a nap in before dinner!
Whew, that was a lot! My weekend was jam packed, but it was marvelous indeed!
What marvelous thing happened during your weekend?
Have you had chicken enchiladas? Do you like them? They are one of my favorite meals. My mom makes them so yummy!
Do you know anyone with diabetes?
